Thirty years after Daoguang, Hong Xiuquan issued a call for a regimental camp in Jintian Village, hoping that members of God worship in various places would arrive in Jintian Village at the end of the year to discuss important matters. At the end of the same year, the members of the Cult of God gathered in Jintian Village, and Hong Xiuquan thought that the time was ripe, so he launched an uprising, and an anti-Qing movement that lasted for more than a decade began.
So, why did Hong Xiuquan choose to launch an uprising in Jintian Village? Little Buddha believes that there are two important reasons.
Blessed with unique geographical advantages
The ancients often said that whether a battle can be won has a great relationship with the favorable people of heaven and place, and the geographical advantage ranks second, which shows that it has a great relationship on whether the battle is won, occupying favorable terrain, attacking and retreating, and JintianCun is such a existence for Hong Xiuquan at that time.
Jintian Village is located in the Zijingshan area of Guiping County, and can attack the trade distribution centers with relatively dense population and more grain reserves such as Xinwei and Jiangkouwei, and can enter the Zijingshan Mountains with retreat, and JintianCun has only two roads to enter the Zijingshan Mountains, as long as the checkpoints are set up in the dangerous places of these two roads, it is not so easy for the Qing army to attack the Bauhinia Mountains. Kaneda Village is connected to the Bauhinia Mountain, which is an excellent defense base.
In addition to the geographical advantages of Jintian Village, another important reason why Hong Xiuquan chose Jintian Village is that it is Feng Yunshan's missionary base.
There is a good mass base
Jintiancun was able to become the first place of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Movement, which was inseparable from Feng Yunshan's missionary work here for several years.
In 1844, Feng Yunshan and Hong Xiuquan went to Guangxi to preach together, but it did not go well, Hong Xiuquan made a deserter, and Feng Yunshan chose to go to the Bauhinia Mountains alone, as an ordinary laborer, with farmers and charcoal burners, to publicize the doctrine of worshiping God, which lasted for several years, endured hardships, and finally established a foothold in the Bauhinia Mountains and was trusted by the people. Feng Yunshan not only dealt with peasants and charcoal burners, but also worked as a teacher for the children of wealthy families, took the opportunity to teach confucian cultural knowledge to the children, contacted local rich households and spread god worship to them, and gained a group of rich god worship members, and these people sold their property in the early stage of the uprising, provided money for the uprising, and actively participated in the anti-Qing movement.
When Feng Yunshan was preaching at Zijing Mountain alone, his behavior was very restrained, and he never contradicted the official government on the surface, which was why the official government did not trouble Feng Yunshan.
Feng Yunshan is a reader, more able to ponder the psychology of believers, but also for the believers in the heart to create a god, this god is Hong Xiuquan, Feng Yunshan combined with Hong Xiuquan's early establishment of the doctrine of worshiping God, the promotion of Hong Xiuquan as the son of the Heavenly Father, is the Heavenly Father sent Hong Xiuquan to the netherworld to save the world, kill the Qing demon, and the reason why he went to the Bauhinia Mountains to preach was sent by Hong Xiuquan. In less than three years, Feng Yunshan, who was earnestly publicized, traveled to Jintian Village and its surrounding areas, and soon developed nearly 3,000 believers, absorbing a large number of people who would be of great use to the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in the future, so that the Worship of God Sect had a sufficient mass base in Jintian Village, which was "people", and this was the main reason why Hongxi District later chose to revolt in Jintian Village.
If the geographical advantage of Jintian Village is not the only one, but the condition of the mass base is unique. Of course, Hong Xiuquan naturally chose to revolt in Jintian Village for other reasons, such as: Jintian Village is relatively remote, the local government does not manage much at all, and the Tiandihui has not organized anti-Qing activities here...
