In the whole of last year, Mercedes-Benz sold 2093476 passenger cars, down 5% year-on-year, and from the data exposed by overseas media, BMW Group's global sales in 2021 will reach 2.2 million, which means that since 2016, BMW's global sales surpassed Mercedes-Benz for the first time!
In 2021, Mercedes-Benz sales in the European market fell by more than 11%, while in the Asian market sales fell by 1.6% year-on-year, as Mercedes-Benz's largest single market, sales in the Chinese market were 758863 units, down 2% year-on-year; in the North American market slightly increased by 0.3% year-on-year.
According to relevant news, the decline in Mercedes-Benz's sales in 2021 is mainly related to the global semiconductor shortage.
However, although sales have declined, Mercedes-Benz has also had bright spots last year, such as the delivery of 87,064 units of the new S-Class, an increase of 40%, and the Chinese market contributed 35.5% of sales; Maybach sales increased by 50% to 15,730 units, and the Chinese market demand was strong, entering 10,800 units;
Mercedes-Benz G-Class sold 41,174 units, a record delivery record, and also set a new record for the AMG brand, which last year's cumulative sales of 145979 units, an increase of 16.7%.
As for new energy models, mercedes-benz hybrid and pure electric models sales have increased by more than 1 times, and the global order volume of the flagship electric sedan EQS has reached 16,370 units.
In 2022, Mercedes-Benz will launch 21 new products in the Chinese market, including 8 plug-in and pure electric models.
