"Hydrogen" leads the future Weichai power hydrogen fuel cell system large-scale application

Shanghai Securities News China Securities Network News At 9:00 a.m. on January 8, Weichai Power held a press conference on "Scientific and Technological Revolution and Industrial Change" in Jinan to display major hydrogen energy technology demonstration achievements, and at the same time, Shandong Heavy Industry Group delivered the first batch of Sinotruk hydrogen fuel heavy tractors to Shandong Port Group, which is equipped with Weichai's high-power hydrogen fuel cell system. With this as a symbol, Weichai Power's previously developed 15-200kW series hydrogen fuel cell system has begun to open a large-scale demonstration application road.

While promoting breakthroughs in traditional power technologies and low-carbon upgrading, Weichai regards the development of new energy industries as one of its important strategic directions. In 2021, Weichai Power will take the lead in building the country's only national fuel cell technology innovation center. At the same time, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Shandong Province signed a framework agreement on the "Hydrogen into Ten Thousand Homes" science and technology demonstration project, relying on the National Fuel Cell Technology Innovation Center, to carry out multi-scenario demonstration applications of hydrogen energy in Shandong, accelerate the breakthrough of key technologies and industrial development of hydrogen energy, and create a replicable and replicable hydrogen energy industry Qilu model.

Since the implementation of the "Hydrogen into Ten Thousand Homes" science and technology demonstration project, the 15-200kW series hydrogen fuel cell system has been successfully developed, of which the 200kW fuel cell system participated in the national "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" scientific and technological innovation achievement exhibition in October 2021; the first fuel cell fleet environmental adaptability test in an extremely cold environment was successfully started at minus 34 °C, and the industry was the first to achieve a product life of 30,000 hours, leading the process of fuel cell industrialization in China.

Based on the high reliability of fuel cell products, multi-scenario application demonstration work has been carried out. In terms of hydrogen energy parks, the first high-power containerized hydrogen fuel cell combined heat and power system and the first 30kW solid-state oxide fuel cell combined heat and power supply system in China were put into operation in Weifang; the first 3-ton hydrogen fuel cell forklift in China created a zero-carbon logistics and handling environment. In terms of hydrogen energy ports, the first 80-passenger hydrogen fuel cell passenger ship in China was successfully launched in Jinan Xueye Lake to achieve zero-carbon emission shipping; the country's first port hydrogen fuel cell heavy truck demonstration operation project was launched in Qingdao Port. In terms of hydrogen energy high-speed, the country's first highway hydrogen refueling station was put into operation in Zibo; the 49-ton fuel cell heavy truck supporting Weichai power products ran for more than 5,000 kilometers on the route from Jinan Taigang to Qingdao Dongjiakou Port Area. On October 27 last year, China National Heavy Duty Truck Yellow River Snow Wax Truck equipped with Weichai's 162kW hydrogen fuel cell system was delivered to the Winter Olympics, achieving "China's first, world-leading and completely domestically produced". A series of achievements marks that "hydrogen into ten thousand homes" is moving from blueprint to reality.

Tan Xuguang, chairman of Weichai Power and director of the Academic Committee of the National Fuel Cell Technology Innovation Center, said that Weichai will achieve "double engine" drive and unswervingly realize the traditional high-end power and new energy power in the forefront of the scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, opening up a new path for the national "double carbon" strategy of diversified energy transformation.
