Weichai's "double engine" drive of The Banner of Weifang International Power City handed over two scientific and technological innovation answer sheets on the same day, unswervingly realizing that traditional high-end power and new energy power are in the forefront, and in the scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, it has opened up a new path for the national "double carbon" strategy to diversify energy transformation. At the press conference, the international authoritative testing organization T V SÜD issued the certification certificate of 51.09% thermal efficiency to Weichai, and held the first batch of hydrogen fuel heavy truck demonstration operation delivery ceremony of Shandong Heavy Industry Shandong Port.
At present, green and low-carbon development has become a global consensus, and China has put forward the strategic goals of "carbon peak in 2030" and "carbon neutrality in 2060". The field of transportation is an important battlefield for the realization of the "double carbon" strategy, and the internal combustion engine industry plays an important role in this process. Thermal efficiency is a measure of the internal combustion engine fuel utilization efficiency of the standard, the higher the thermal efficiency, the less fuel consumption, the more significant the effect of energy saving and emission reduction, reflecting the symbol of the comprehensive strength of a country's diesel engine technology, thermal efficiency improvement is also the common pursuit of the global industry since the birth of diesel engine 125 years ago.
The thermal efficiency of Weichai Power Diesel Engine body reached 51.09%, which is another major revolution in the thermal efficiency of traditional power, and also provides technical preparations for the implementation of the "National VII" emission standards. The application of this technology will fully realize Weichai Power's full range of all-field diesel engines to lead the world, which is of great strategic significance for promoting energy conservation and emission reduction and green development of China's traditional internal combustion engine industry, and has an important technological leading role in the global internal combustion engine industry.
According to estimates, compared with the existing mainstream products in the market (average 46% thermal efficiency diesel engine), 51% thermal efficiency diesel engine can reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by 10% respectively, which can save 16 million tons of fuel in China every year, with economic benefits of about 140 billion yuan; carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by 50 million tons per year.
While promoting breakthroughs in traditional power technologies and low-carbon upgrading, Weichai regards the development of new energy industries as one of its important strategic directions. This time, Shandong Heavy Industry Group delivered the first batch of Sinotruk hydrogen fuel heavy tractors to Shandong Port Group, supporting Weichai's high-power hydrogen fuel cell system, which has the characteristics of strong power, green environmental protection, safety and reliability, high efficiency and full attendance.
In 2021, Weichai Power will take the lead in building the country's only national fuel cell technology innovation center. At the same time, the Ministry of Science and Technology and Shandong Province signed a framework agreement on the "Hydrogen into Ten Thousand Homes" science and technology demonstration project. With the strong support of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Shandong Province, the National Fuel Cell Technology Innovation Center has established an innovation synergy with Weichai Power as the core and joint research by enterprises, universities and research institutes, accelerated the breakthrough of technical bottlenecks in the industrial chain and the landing of industrialization, and successfully developed the 15-200kW series hydrogen fuel cell system, of which the 200kW fuel cell system participated in the national "13th Five-Year Plan" scientific and technological innovation achievement exhibition in October 2021; the first to carry out the environmental adaptability test of fuel cell fleet in extremely cold environment. Under the condition of minus 34 °C, a successful start, the first in the industry to achieve a product life of 30,000 hours, leading the process of China's fuel cell industrialization.
