Geely Automobile's sales rose by about 3% year-on-year to a total of 1.33 million units, which is also the fifth consecutive year that Geely Automobile has won the annual sales volume of Chinese brand passenger cars. BYD, which has always been a leading brand in new energy, increased by 75.4% year-on-year in passenger cars, with a total of 730,093 units sold. Taking the new energy data alone, BYD still maintained a strong growth momentum, an increase of 231.6% year-on-year, the highest growth rate of all independent brands of new energy vehicle companies.
Among the Great Wall systems, the most rapidly growing sales were the Euler and Tank brands, with Euler soaring 140% year-on-year to 135,028 units. The Tanks brand received a total of 84,588 orders after launching its first product, the Tank 300, in early 2021. Great Wall is also the largest pickup truck manufacturer in China, with pickup truck sales up 5.6% to 233,006 units, maintaining the first domestic and export sales for 24 consecutive years.
In the Geely system, the Lynk & Co brand grew rapidly, and in 2021, Lynk & Co delivered a total of 220,516 vehicles, an increase of 25.68% year-on-year, and the Star series hit a record high, with a total annual sales of 210,000 vehicles. At the same time, Geely's new energy and electrification products will sell 100,126 units in 2021, and the first product of the new electric vehicle brand Zeekr, the 001 sport sedan, also performed well, with sales reaching 3,796 units in December. In terms of exports, Geely increased by 58% year-on-year to 115,008 vehicles, covering 28 countries.
