Geely Automobile recently announced its latest sales figures, selling 158,765 vehicles in December 2021, an increase of about 3% year-on-year and about 17% month-on-month. In terms of cumulative sales, with the blessing of the Extreme Krypton brand, Geely's cumulative sales volume was 1,328,029 units, which was almost the same as last year's sales, an increase of only 0.59% year-on-year, and failed to meet the annual sales target of 1.53 million units. However, it is worth mentioning that the annual sales of new energy models such as geometric brands were 100,126 units, up about 47% year-on-year. With a steady increase in market share (6.74% as of August 17), Geely has set its sales target of 1.65 million units for 2022.
In terms of geely brands, the China Star series, which pinned the brand's upward hopes, sold 29,287 units in December, with annual sales of more than 210,000 units, of which the compact SUV Xingyue L sold 12,035 units in December, with a total sales volume of more than 50,000 units in the five months of listing. Xingrui, which is also a compact car, sold 13,115 units in December, and the cumulative sales volume exceeded 130,000 units for the whole year. The Emgrand family sold 27,804 vehicles in December, with a cumulative annual sales volume of more than 200,000 vehicles; the Boyue family sold 19,048 vehicles in December, with a cumulative annual sales volume of more than 220,000 vehicles; and The new Binyue also delivered nearly 150,000 vehicles.
In terms of other brands, Geely's high-end brand Lynk & Co sold 25,846 units in December, an increase of about 4% year-on-year and more than 3% month-on-month, and its annual sales reached 220,516 units, an increase of about 26% year-on-year, a new high. The Krypton 001 under the Krypton brand delivered 3,796 units in December, up 88.7% month-on-month. New energy and electrified models, including geometric brands and Emgrand EVs, sold 18,813 units in December, up 167% year-on-year and a new monthly sales record.
In terms of new cars, Geely is expected to launch two A-class SUVs based on the CMA platform this year, the same size as Boyue and a small electric vehicle under 100,000 yuan, as well as a modified geometry A and a modified geometry C. In addition, new hybrid models similar to BYD will also be launched in the middle of this year, and the proportion of models equipped with Thor hybrids will be 30%-50%.
