At the beginning of 2022,
The automotive circle ushered in the opening drama of the new year——
International Consumer Electronics Show (CES),
It has become a must for automakers.
It even eclipsed the Detroit Auto Show.
In the past few years, affected by the tide of automobile intelligence, car companies have become the protagonists of CES. In line with the overall transformation trend of the automotive industry, the focus of the display of various car companies in this CES is also focused on the fields of electrification, digitalization and intelligence.
A number of car companies have launched an electrification product offensive: General Motors released five pure electric vehicles at CES at one time; BMW launched a pure electric vehicle iXM60, flagship electric vehicle model BMWiX, etc., Mercedes-Benz launched the VISIONEQXX concept car in the world, with a single charge range of more than 1,000 kilometers; Audi also launched the first electric sports car; Chrysler announced at CES that it plans to fully electrify in 2028.
Several of these cars are highly sought after by the media:
Chevrolet Silverado pure electric pickup
GM CEO Mary Barra unveiled the Silverado EV, which is expected to be available in early 2023 and starts at $39,900 (about 254,200 yuan).
Although it shares the name of the popular gasoline-powered Silverado pickup, this Silverado is a completely different truck with a unique design and key features not found in the internal combustion engine-powered model.
GM said the truck will go into production in the spring of 2023, a year behind GM's biggest pickup competitor, the Ford F-150 Lightning. While Lightning looks a lot like the F-150 — including an artificial "grille" design in front — GM's Silverado EV looks less traditional. Although its design is not as radical as Tesla's prismatic Cyberteruck, it's clear at a glance that the Silverado EV is different from other Chevrolet pickups.
Cadillac InnerSpace
Cadillac unveiled the InnerSpace concept car, a new addition to the Cadillac Halo concept series, built in a futuristic design language that reminds us of the EQXX concept car recently released by Mercedes-Benz.
As the name suggests, InnerSpace aims to create a tranquil and soothing atmosphere while also creating a very luxurious space. Limited to two people, the car is completely autonomous, giving occupants the freedom to interact with the outside world, while AI software strives to provide a personalized experience.
Sony Vision-S 02
The car will be built on the same EV/cloud platform as the Vision-S 01 launched in 2020, and it will use the form factor of an SUV. In addition to the release of the concept map, Sony also announced that it will set up a subsidiary this spring, Sony Mobility Inc., which may become a symbol of Sony's entry into the electric vehicle market.
The Sony Vision-S 02 is equipped with image and LiDAR sensors to run the autonomous part of the software. Sony is planning to provide Vision-S with Level 2+ driver assistance permits and is currently conducting road tests to achieve this.
Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX
The endurance of this new concept electric car is undoubtedly the core concern of everyone - Mercedes-Benz claims that the Vision EQXX can travel more than 1,000 kilometers on a single charge.
Mercedes-Benz also added that based on the average distance traveled each year, Vision EQXX users in the United States and China only need to charge an average of 2 times per month, while European users typically only need to charge once a month.
Such efficient power output comes from a new battery pack developed by Mercedes-AMG HPP for the VISION EQXX concept car. With an advanced anode chemistry and a highly integrated battery pack, an energy density of nearly 400 Wh/L is achieved, and its nearly 100 kWh battery volume is only 50% of the new EQS, and the weight is reduced by 30%. The vision EQXX concept car has a single charge range of more than 1,000 kilometers after digital simulation of real road conditions, and the energy consumption of 100 kilometers is less than 10 kilowatts, which can cover more mileage with less energy consumption, which can be described as "four or two thousand pounds".
CES is not only a place for companies to release their latest products, but also a stage for companies to pass on the direction of future products, and a platform for thousands of small manufacturers, suppliers and buyers to discuss cooperation opportunities. The automotive industry's lead role at CES is nothing new, and over the past few years it has become the go-to place for automakers to showcase their high-tech products.
As for the reason, with the development of science and technology, the boundaries of automobiles, electronic products and various types of high-tech have long been blurred, and even have been issued to share, and the power to support the development of concept cars is inseparable from the rapid development of science and technology. Although the benefits are obvious, that is, it is simple to build a car, but it also brings a thought, with the reduction of the threshold of smart cars, will some people who fish in muddy waters join the ranks of car building?
