The exhibition is co-organized by Qingdao Municipal Museum, Qingdao Institute of Cultural Relics Protection and Archaeology, Qingdao Municipality, and co-organized by Licang District, Huangdao District, Jimo District, Pingdu City, Laixi City, Chengyang District, Jiaozhou Museum, and Jiaoyun Jinshui (Qingdao) Construction and Development Co., Ltd.

In order to strengthen the exchange and cooperation between museums in various districts and cities in Qingdao and effectively enhance the display and utilization of archaeological achievements, after the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the leaders of the member units of the Qingdao Museum Alliance and the leaders and comrades of the Qingdao Institute of Cultural Relics Protection and Archaeology jointly participated in the symposium with the theme of "Archaeological Discoveries and Achievements display in Qingdao Area". At the meeting, the leaders and comrades of various units spoke freely and communicated effectively on the future transformation of archaeological achievements in Qingdao into exhibitions, benefiting all citizens, strengthening the ties between member units of the Qingdao Museum Alliance, and improving the level of exhibition.

"Exploring the Source of Qingdao: Exhibition of Archaeological Achievements in Qingdao Area" is divided into three parts: Ren Chong Daoyuan, Ji Yin Suowei and Wenhua Brilliant, starting from combing the development process of archaeological work in Qingdao, introducing the process methods of field archaeology and underwater archaeology, and finally presenting Qingdao's archaeological achievements in recent years as the focus of the exhibition to the audience. In the third part of the exhibition, the historical and cultural features of Qingdao are intuitively displayed with archaeological sites and excavated cultural relics on the axis of time. The exhibition displays a total of more than 160 pieces/sets of cultural relics excavated from archaeological excavations in Qingdao, and introduces nearly 30 archaeological sites in Qingdao, dating from the Paleolithic era to the Ming and Qing dynasties, spanning 50,000-60,000 years.

In the course of Qingdao's nearly 100 years of archaeological development, after several generations of archaeologists, the historical development of Qingdao has gradually become clear, and the historical and cultural features have gradually emerged. Qingdao was born from the sea and prospered with the sea, and its unique marine civilization has witnessed the history of China's tens of thousands of years of south-to-north travel. This exhibition reviews and sorts out the archaeological achievements of Qingdao area, deeply analyzes the ancient historical and cultural connotation of Qingdao area, digs deep into marine cultural factors, and accumulates strong momentum for building Qingdao into an international marine city at an early date and promoting the development of Qingdao's urban marine economy with profound marine cultural heritage.

The exhibition will be exhibited on the first floor of the East District of Qingdao Municipal Museum from January 7 to March 31, 2022, and the majority of Bo fans are welcome to visit the museum.
