Planned by the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the exhibition is divided into three parts: The Task is Heavy and Long, the Hidden Suowei, and the Wenhua Brilliant, starting from combing the development process of Qingdao's archaeological work, and finally presenting Qingdao's archaeological achievements in recent years as the focus of the display to the audience. Among them, in the third part of the exhibition, the historical and cultural features of Qingdao are intuitively displayed from archaeological sites and excavated cultural relics on the axis of time.

The exhibition displays a total of more than 160 pieces/sets of cultural relics excavated from archaeological excavations in Qingdao, introducing nearly 30 archaeological sites in Qingdao, dating from the Paleolithic age to the Ming and Qing dynasties, spanning 50,000-60,000 years, focusing on the results of field archaeology and underwater archaeology in Qingdao.
