During the Long March of the Red Army, a commander of the National Military District comforted them with tobacco, alcohol, and food.

On October 10, 1934, the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, and 9th Armies of the Red Army and more than 86,000 troops directly under the Central Military Commission set out from Ruijin, Ancient City, Jiangxi Province, and other places to begin a strategic transfer, preparing to meet the Red 2 and Red 6 Armies in the Western Hunan Region.

This was the Long March of the Red Army, which became famous all over the world.

During the Long March of the Red Army, many great events that could be sung and wept occurred, and some interesting things happened. For example, when the Red Army marched in Sichuan, there was a district commander of the Nationalist army who brought tobacco, alcohol and food to comfort them.

Let's start at the beginning.

In May 1935, after crossing the Jinsha River, the Red Army galloped in the starry night and marched rapidly in the direction of the Dadu River. In front of the main force of the Red Army was the Red Regiment. The Red Regiment is a team with a glorious history, which was reorganized by the Autumn Harvest Uprising troops through the Three Bays. In August 1933, this unit was reorganized into the First Regiment of the First Army of the First Front, and was originally called the "Red Regiment". The Red Regiment is brave and good at fighting, can fight hard battles and vicious battles, so it is often used as a strong offensive force and an advance force.

At that time, the leader of the Red Regiment was Yang Dezhi and the political commissar was Li Lin. They are all Hunan people.

Yang Dezhi was a worker in the Anyuan Coal Mine in his early years, participated in the Shonan Uprising in 1928, and later arrived at Jinggangshan with his troops and became a heroic Red Army general. Later, Yang Dezhi participated in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, was the commander of the 2nd Corps of the North China Military Region, and was awarded the rank of general in 1955.

Li Lin was 4 years older than Yang Dezhi, and before coming to the Red Regiment as a political commissar, he served as the political commissar of the Red Twenty-fourth Division and the acting political commissar of the Sixth Division of the Red Third Army. Li Lin participated in the whole process of the Red Army's Long March, but unfortunately, after arriving in northern Shaanxi, he suffered from severe lung disease and heart disease, and unfortunately died of illness in 1937 at the age of 30. When Yang Dezhi remembered Li Lin's contribution to the Red Regiment, he said: "Every victory of the Red Regiment in the Long March has condensed his (Li Lin's) painstaking efforts. ”

Yang Dezhi and Li Lin jointly led the red group and were intimate. On this day, when they were about to arrive at Anshun Field in Asbestos County in southern Sichuan, Yin Guochi, commander of the Third Battalion, sent a correspondent to report to them a strange incident, saying that there was a district commander of the Nationalist army with 8 horses lined up on the side of the road with 8 horses to warmly welcome the arrival of the Red Army.

Listening to this incident, Yang Dezhi and Li Lin looked at each other and felt a little strange. At that time, the Red Army and the Nationalist Army were fighting fiercely, and hundreds of thousands of troops of the Nationalist Army were encircling and blocking the Red Army, intending to eliminate them in one fell swoop.

Yang Dezhi and Li Lin immediately rode to the front to check the situation at the scene. When they came to the front, they saw that there was indeed a row of tables, chairs and benches on the side of the road, which were full of tobacco, alcohol and food, and the soldiers of the third battalion were not "polite" and were sitting on chairs and benches while resting and enjoying "consolation goods". The commander of the National Military District took 8 horses and greeted them respectfully, as if entertaining distinguished guests from afar.

After hearing the sound of horses' hooves, the commander of the National Military Region saw two officers coming down from their horses, and seeing this posture, they must have been high-ranking officers, and they hurriedly stepped forward, full of joy on their faces, and welcomed Yang Dezhi and Li Lin in Sichuan dialect: "Your army is passing through the untouchable land, and the governor of this district did not know in advance?" Oh, the district chief is not well received, please don't be surprised by the two chiefs. The next day the chief is free, welcome to play again! ”

Yang Dezhi and Li Lin saw that the mayor's expression was very sincere, not like he was setting a trap. When they thought about it for a moment, they immediately realized that this district commander must have regarded the Red Army as a national army.

Originally, this area belonged to the southern mountainous area of Sichuan, which was very remote, closed in traffic, and lagging information. The district chief had never seen either the Red Army nor the Nationalist Army, and he never dreamed that the Red Army would pass by his turf. When he learned that a unit had passed by, he subjectively judged that this army was a unit of the National Army, so he enthusiastically brought tobacco, alcohol, and food to "comfort the labor."

While drinking tea, Yang Dezhi casually asked, "Is there any situation here?" The district chief replied: "Listening to the words of the superior, there is a stream of flowing communist troops coming more than 100 miles away from here, but it is still very far away, and the regimental commander is relaxed and slowly drinking tea." ”

Yang Dezhi and Li Lin finished drinking tea and were ready to go on the road. In order to prevent the leakage of secrets, they unloaded all 8 horses' guns and forced the district chief to take them on the road together. The district chief didn't expect this at all, and muttered vigorously: "This is what I said, this is what I said." "This old brother obviously came to comfort the army, but he was treated with this treatment, and he was almost wronged to cry."

During the Long March of the Red Army, a commander of the National Military District comforted them with tobacco, alcohol, and food.

Yang Dezhi and Li Lin walked more than 10 miles with the district chief, and at this time, the district chief guessed what the situation was, took the horse Ben to the ground, and slipped down a section of the hillside.

When the Red Army was about to chase them, Yang Dezhi stopped them and said, "Don't shoot, let them run back to meet our comrades behind us." However, it is not known whether this district chief has a large Red Army unit behind the "comfort".
