What I want to share with you today is the chiang kai-shek army uprising unit, when three chiang army units surrendered to our army, unfortunately none of these three rebel troops were successfully transformed, but our army did not pity for this, and the facts have proved that the high tuition fees were not paid in vain.
1. The Communist Party and the Kuomintang are old enemies
Needless to say, the origin of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party is very clear in everyone's hearts, although both the Kuomintang and the Communist Party came into being in that era of feudal decay and decline, and it was to oppose those old dogmas, old rituals, and regimes that were born to save the people.
However, in the later stages of the development of the Kuomintang, it completely deviated from its original intentions, bent on making enemies with the Communist Party, and even when Japan hit China, it still clamored to completely smash the Communist Party first and then eliminate Japan.
Obviously, the Kuomintang at that time was ambitious, and it was completely fighting for the sake of desire, and it did not think at all about fighting for a better life for the people, and such a political power naturally could not win the support of the people, so the final defeat of the Kuomintang is also traceable.
On October 30, 1945, Gao Shuxun, commander of the newly formed Eighth Army, was ordered to launch an attack on the People's Liberation Army, and Gao Shuxun led his troops out of the battlefield after the announcement of the uprising in Handan, a move that caused a strong shock among Chiang Kai-shek's troops on the front line of the Pinghan Campaign.
In order to bring this rebel army closer to our army, at that time our Party adopted a policy of gentleness, but the concerted efforts made by our army did not allow this army to change its thinking at all.
The original purpose of our party organization was to let more Chiang Kai-shek see that after the uprising of Gao Shuxun's troops, they were treated kindly by our party, so as to plot against them.
However, later things have slowly deviated from the correct track, and the rebellious Chiang Kai-shek army did not really turn to communism at all, but just to find a safe place to live.
2. The jiang army that revolted had a bad track record
It was only then that our army realized that all efforts made before that had been made had been in vain, that the organization had not successfully transformed this unit into a use for the people, but had become a bane buried inside the base areas, and that such measures had been taken only to prevent the worst from happening.
After the Gao Shuxun uprising, in order to ensure the vital interests of the rebel officers and not to make them feel real, our army has never touched the organizational structure of this rebel force, because it is afraid that the officers will misunderstand and resent, so it has not done any reform work among the soldiers of this unit.
The supply given to this unit at that time clearly exceeded the standard of living conditions for other units.
The treatment of Gao Shuxun's troops by our army is in sharp contrast with that of Chiang Kai-shek's army.
Under our army's policy of huairou, this unit did feel warm and moved, but because the economic and financial situation of the base areas at that time could not be compared with the Kuomintang, this kind of over-standard treatment made many commanders and fighters of our army unable to think clearly, and these officers and men who had revolted indulged in pleasure, and once the supply was insufficient, it was easy to produce a rebellious mentality.
At that time, this rebel army was stationed in Hebei for only a few months, which made the local people particularly miserable, and the local people asked for this unit to be transferred.
3. Three rebel troops, none of which were successfully transformed! High tuition fees are not paid in vain
After discovering these problems, the relevant departments did not severely punish the officers and men who violated the law because they took into account the emotions of the officers and men of the uprising, and they also caused the masses to complain one after another, and the opposition of many of the masses deepened day by day, which also made one of the officers and men more and more unscrupulous. For our army, if it is only a small matter in general, we have already tolerated those who can tolerate it, but the Democratic Construction Army (Gao Shuxun troops) has disappointed our army very much at the big festival.
This unit did not have much consciousness, and the reason why they chose to revolt at that time was only a helpless act of seeking self-preservation, and most of the insurrectionary officers and soldiers at that time were concerned with how to maximize their own interests.
It is precisely because they have no consciousness in this regard at all, so after the full outbreak of the War of Liberation, this unit was unwilling to carry out any military training and preparation for war by means of delay, nor was it willing to join the combat sequence of our army, because they were afraid that they did not want to go to the battlefield, they were just blindly demanding from our army, but they were not willing to pay at all, it was precisely because they acted too much, and in the end our army made a painstaking effort to completely solve the problem of the democratic construction army.
In March 1947, our army withdrew from Yan'an, so that these democratic founding troops decided that the defeat of our army was a foregone conclusion, and in order to protect their own interests, they used their earlier connections to secretly communicate with The Chiang Kai-shek side, Gao Shuxun himself took a very firm stand, seeing that some people in the troops wrote a letter of persuasion and took the initiative to hand over the letter of persuasion to our army, but it was difficult to change the floating hearts of the people in this unit.
At that time, such a phenomenon was not an isolated phenomenon, and at that time, the three rebel detachments all had such a situation, and basically none of the problems envisaged were successful, which also triggered a profound reflection on our side.
Summary: At that time, the attitude of our army to these three rebel units was like that of a stepmother, in order not to let them have a rebellious mentality and get close to themselves, so we always allowed them to do some bad things under their eyes, because they paid too much attention to the emotions of these rebel officers, wanted to retain them, and tried to provide them with preferential treatment by retaining the old organizational structure, but the final development of things was contrary to what we expected.
Although we have not successfully transformed these three units, the high tuition fees of our army have not been paid in vain, because in the failure of the transformation of these three units, we have learned experience, which is already a valuable asset for us.
