Automakers such as Volkswagen, Ford and Extreme Krypton have partnered with Mobileye to upgrade

Mobileye, along with Volkswagen, Ford, and Extreme Kr, announced a new collaborative plan around Mobileye's map, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and self-driving car technology at CES 2022.

With Travel Assist 2.5, the Volkswagen Group will use Mobileye's crowdsourced mapping technology to enhance the comfort of ADAS functions, including lane keeping/centering, in Volkswagen, Skoda and SEAT brand cars.

Mobileye's long-standing relationship with Ford will be further deepened into a strategic partnership, and Mobielye's Road Information Management (REM) mapping technology will be added to future versions of Ford's BlueCruise system, and L2+ ADAS solutions will be available for multiple brands and models.

Mobileye and Geely Holding Group's global high-end electric mobility technology brand, Extreme Kr, jointly announced that the two companies plan to provide consumers with a mobile drive-driven electric vehicle as early as 2024.

On January 4, 2022, Mobileye, together with Volkswagen Group, Ford and Extreme Kr, today announced the latest strategic partnerships around improving the driver and passenger experience around the world. These collaborations underscore Mobileye's broad technological innovation capabilities in everything from ADAS to autonomous vehicles (AV). Mobileye also showcased the eyeQUltra, the first self-driving car integration chip built specifically for the L4 self-driving car.

The world's leading automakers have upgraded their partnership with Mobileye

Professor Amnon Shashua, President and CEO of Mobileye, said: "Our customers believe that innovation is at the heart of their future strategies and are relying on Mobileye to realize their vision. As a trusted partner, Mobileye is fully committed to delivering scalable 'ADAS to AV' solutions that exceed customer expectations and continue to move the industry forward." We thank our customers for choosing to continue working with us and look forward to working together to set new industry standards." ”

Newly announced collaborations and plans include:

Mobileye's First ADAS "Cluster Data" Application: Volkswagen Group is the first automaker in the world to apply Mobileye map data to improve the comfort and safety of ADAS functionality. Mobileye RoadBook is a crowdsourced cloud database with high-precision and high-definition maps. Cluster data can be collected from cars equipped with Mobileye chips around the world. The Volkswagen Group is currently using this data to improve the driver experience of the Travel Assist 2.5 system. For example, in some road sections, vehicles are able to provide lane keeping assistance in areas without obvious lane markings. Mobileye's proprietary Road Information Management (REM) technology automatically aggregates and generates autonomous vehicle maps in the cloud, providing a truly global and scalable mapping solution for autonomous vehicles. Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat electric vehicles based on the Volkswagen MEB platform will soon launch the Travel Assist function equipped with RoadBook.

Prof. Shashua and Dr. Herbert Diess, Chairman of the Volkswagen Group, recently test-drove an ID.4 car in Munich with the new Travel Assist function developed on Mobileye technology

Professor Shashua and Dr. Herbert Diess, Chairman of the Volkswagen Group, recently drove an ID.4 car in Munich equipped with the new Travel Assist function developed on Mobileye technology. During the test drive, Dr. Diess observed several advantages of the advanced features offered by Road Network Information Management (REM) technology. "Using real driving data instead of maps is a clear advantage, he said... Everything worked well and basically didn't require any intervention from me to get the car running properly. ”

Ford and Mobileye deepen long-term partnership: Ford and Mobileye jointly announced plans to expand their strategic partnership. For example, Ford will begin using Mobileye's Road Information Management (REM) self-driving car mapping technology in future versions of Ford's Blue Cruise platform, which allows drivers to operate the vehicle without having to use their hands while a driver-facing camera detects if the driver is paying attention to the road ahead. In addition, REM technology will be extended to true autonomous driving to enable vehicles to add stop-and-go and lane centering (LC) capabilities to Ford's existing adaptive cruise control (ACC) on top of Ford's existing adaptive cruise control (ACC). In addition, the two sides will collaborate on Mobileye's open platform to allow Ford to build and integrate its own solutions to make future driving safer and easier.

Jim Farley, President and CEO of Ford, said: "For more than a century, Ford has been committed to providing new automotive technologies that make driving safer and easier. We are excited to partner with Mobileye around a platform that will enable us to develop the next generation of autonomous driving technology." Our investment in these capabilities will help us revolutionize the driving experience for our customers. ”

The first consumer-grade autonomous vehicle based on Mobileye Drive technology: Mobileye and Geely Holding Group's global high-end electric mobility technology brand, Extreme Kr, will further expand their cooperation to create a new pure electric vehicle with L4 autonomous driving capabilities. The car integrates Mobileye with Krypton software technology under the open EyeQ concept, integrating Mobileye's True Redundancy sensing solution, road information management (REM) autonomous vehicle mapping technology, driving decisions based on a responsibility-sensitive safety model (RSS), and redundant braking, steering and power functions of the Geely SEA vast architecture. The model will be the world's first consumer-grade L4 self-driving car, which is expected to debut in China as early as 2024 and then launch to the global market.

An Conghui, CEO of Kr Intelligent Technologies, said: "Mobileye has always been our strategic partner, and our common mission is to provide passenger cars that make the future of transportation more sustainable and automated. Our partnership will support Krypton and Mobileye in achieving their shared goal of leading the global ADAS and autonomous driving industry." Kr welcomes open collaboration, which will facilitate the convergence of Kr and Mobileye's technical expertise to better create a sophisticated autonomous travel experience for customers. ”

At CES 2022, Udelv also announced the launch of a dedicated autonomous delivery vehicle powered by MobileYeDrive. Based on the cooperation plan announced by the two companies last year, Udelv plans to produce more than 35,000 transport vehicles powered by Mobileye technology by 2028 and start commercial operations from 2023.
