Yang Wenyu was a native of Sichuan, after graduating from the Whampoa Military Academy, he stayed on as the captain of the student team, joined the Kuomintang, and was a real concubine of Chiang Kai-shek.
Yang Wenhu participated in the war very early, from the earliest Eastern Expedition, the subsequent Northern Expedition to the Battle of Songhu, he was a direct participant. In the War of Resistance Against Japan, Yang Wenyu also fought with enthusiasm and never flinched. In the Battle of Northern Guangdong, when the defenders were gradually unable to resist the japanese attack, Yang Wenhu's 54th Army was sent to reinforce, Yang Wenhu was then the acting commander of the 50th Division of the 54th Army, at that time, under the leadership of Yang Wenhu, all the generals wore the armband of "Return My River and Mountain" to fight south to defend the country, and soon repelled the Japanese army and won the first great victory in Guangdong.
During the eight-year War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yang Wenhu successively participated in major battles such as the Battle of Songhu, the Battle of Wuhan, the Battle of Nanchang, the Battle of Changsha, the Battle of Northern Guangdong, and the Battle of Xiangxi, so he was awarded the Commendation Medal of loyalty, the Victory Medal, the Baoding Medal and other commendation medals of the National Army. Before the liberation war began, Yang Wenyu was already the commander of the 72nd Division, and if there was no future war, Yang Wenyu would still be an admired anti-Japanese hero.
However, Chiang Kai-shek started a civil war, and not long after that, Yang Wenhu became a prisoner of our army, unlike many captured Nationalist generals, Yang Wenhu has always been loyal to Chiang Kai-shek, and when Du Yuming rebuked Chiang Kai-shek and drunkenly revealed the secrets of the Nationalist army, only Yang Wenhu showed great stubbornness and always refused to reform, so he did not get the opportunity to get the last amnesty.
