After the name of this nationalist army was captured, he refused to reform, and before his death, he still shouted "Long live Chairman Chiang Kai-shek."

Many people know that among the famous generals of the Nationalist army who were captured by our army, Huang Wei was the most stubborn one, and always refused to reform, so he was not pardoned until 1975.

But few people know that there is actually one person who is more stubborn than Huang Wei. In his later years, Huang Wei once said: "I am a guilty war criminal, and after liberation I was magnanimated and reformed..." But this man shouted "Long live Chairman Jiang!" until his death! ”

This most stubborn nationalist general was named Yang Wenyu (杨文瑔), a native of Jiang'an County (now part of Xingwen County) in Sichuan.

After the name of this nationalist army was captured, he refused to reform, and before his death, he still shouted "Long live Chairman Chiang Kai-shek."

Yang Wenyu was a concubine of Chiang Kai-shek and graduated from the second phase of the Whampoa Military Academy, and his classmates at the same time included Qiu Qingquan, a famous anti-Japanese general, Zheng Jiemin, director of the Military Command Bureau, and Nie Qi, a famous essayist. Because of his particularly excellent grades, Yang Wenyu was arranged to stay in school after graduation and served as the leader of the third and fourth student teams, so that Wang Yaowu, Dai Anlan, Huang Gongluo in the third period, and Lin Zong, Zhang Lingfu, Xie Jinyuan, Hu Lian and other people in the fourth period were also his younger brothers.

Yang Wenyu belonged to a very typical hundred battles, starting from the early Eastern Crusade and northern expedition, he was the most direct participant, and by the Songhu War of Resistance in 1931, Yang Wenyu also followed Zhang Zhizhong's Fifth Army to the battlefield and played a Chinese ambition.

After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yang Wenhu served as a brigade commander and continued to follow Zhang Zhizhong in bloody killing, and in the Battle of Chen Jiaxing in Shanghai, the two regimental commanders under his command were all heroically sacrificed.

In December 1939, the Japanese army launched the Northern Guangdong Campaign. When the defenders were gradually unable to resist, Chiang Kai-shek hurriedly ordered the 54th Army stationed in Hunan to come to reinforcements, and Yang Wenyu was the acting commander of the 50th Division of the 54th Army. At the call of Yang Wenyao, all the officers and men of the army wore the armband of "return my rivers and mountains", traveled thousands of miles south, quickly defeated the Japanese army, and achieved the first victory in northern Guangdong.

After the name of this nationalist army was captured, he refused to reform, and before his death, he still shouted "Long live Chairman Chiang Kai-shek."

During the eight-year War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yang Wenyu turned to the north and south, traversed thousands of miles, and successively participated in the Battle of Songhu, the Battle of Wuhan, the Battle of Nanchang, the Battle of Suizao, the Battle of Changsha, the Battle of Northern Guangdong, the Battle of Guinan, the Battle of Western Hubei, and the Battle of Western Hunan... A lot of achievements. After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yang Wenhu was awarded the Order of Loyalty and Diligence, the Order of Victory, and the Baoding Medal.

In May 1946, Yang Wenyu was appointed commander of the reorganized 72nd Division with the rank of lieutenant general. Zhang Lingfu was the commander of the reorganized 74th Division and also held the rank of lieutenant general.

How beautiful would it be if history stopped here?

But Chiang Kai-shek would not let history stop, and the magnificent liberation-war began. On April 26, 1947, Yang Wenyu became a prisoner of our army in Tai'an, Shandong. Twenty days later, on May 16, Zhang Lingfu was also killed at Meng Lianggu.

In the prisoner-of-war camp, Yang Wenyu always refused to reform, and when Wang Yaowu, Du Yuming and other famous generals began to condemn Chiang Kai-shek, he remained silent.

After the name of this nationalist army was captured, he refused to reform, and before his death, he still shouted "Long live Chairman Chiang Kai-shek."

Shen Drunk, one of the three musketeers of the military command, was also one of the captives, and later wrote about Yang Wenyu in the book "The Life of Prisoners of War in the High Wall": "Unlike a soldier, full of aroma, there is also a kind of sour energy of Self-pity. ”

However, in the eyes of the correctional staff, Yang Wenhu is like a teaching gentleman, who loves cleanliness, lives a very regular life, and is very kind to people, but he is a little too stubborn and not active in reform, so he has not been pardoned.

In October 1973, Yang Wenyu became seriously ill and was arranged to the Second People's Hospital of Fushun. It is said that before his death, Yang Wenhu was still shouting: "Long live Chairman Jiang!" ”

General Yang donated 10,000 yuan during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression for the expansion of the primary school in his hometown, and after the victory of the War of Resistance, he donated a sum of money to build the Meihua Town Middle School in Jiang'an County, which still exists today, that is, Jiang'an No. 3 Middle School.

Such a person, even if he has some shortcomings, is worthy of respect.
