Grouplink PCIe 5.0 master performance announced: support up to 32TB, speed 12GB/s

Previously, the world's largest SSD master chip company group previewed the information of its first PCIe 5.0 main control chip PS5026-E26, and now this chip has been officially released, with a maximum speed of 12GB/s and a maximum support of 32TB capacity.

According to the information of Qunlian, the PS5026-E26 master supports PCIe 5.0 x4 channels, supports NVMe 2.0 standard, adopts TSMC 12nm process, FCCSP 576 package, core area 16x16mm, internal integration of 2 ARM Cortex-R5 cores and 3 dedicated IP cores, supports DDR4/LPDDR4 cache, and supports up to 32TB capacity.

In terms of performance, the PS5026-E26 reads 12GB/s, writes 11GB/s, 4K random reads 1.5 million IOPS, and 4K random writes 2 million IOPS.

From the performance point of view, PS5026-E26 master control read and write speed is not much high, before Samsung, armored man released PCIe 5.0 hard disk speed are rushed to 14GB / s, the first PCIe 5.0 master control is obviously more conservative, can only do 12GB / s, it may be related to the main control chip from the previous generation of 3 core R5 will be 2 core R5.

However, the random performance of this master is very strong, up to 2 million IOPS, which is the top level in the current PCIe 5.0, which is double that of PCIe 4.0.

According to Qunlian, the PS5026-E26 master control chip will come out in the second half of this year, and it is not known which SSD company will be launched.
