According to Qunlian, the PS5026-E26 master control chip will be introduced to the market in the second half of the year, but it has not yet been clear which SSD company will debut.
According to the information of the group, the PS5026-E26 master supports PCIe 5.0 x4 channels, supports the NVMe 2.0 standard, the maximum speed can reach 12GB/s, and the maximum support is 32TB capacity. The main control is manufactured by TSMC 12nm process, FCCSP 576 package, core area 16x16mm, integrated 2 ARM Cortex-R5 cores and 3 dedicated IP cores, supporting DDR4/LPDDR4 cache.
In terms of performance, the group PS5026-E26 read speed of 12GB/s, write speed of 11GB/s, compared with Samsung, Armor man previously released PCIe 5.0 hard disk to reach 14GB/s speed, PS5026-E26 master read and write speed is not outstanding, the reason may be related to the master chip from the previous generation of 3-core R5 to 2-core R5.
However, the random performance of the group PS5026-E26 master is very good, 4K random read 1.5 million IOPS, 4K random write 2 million IOPS, in the PCIe 5.0 SSD is the top level, the performance is almost twice that of PCIe 4.0.
