Wu Zixu was enfeoffed in Shendi and also known as Shenxu. Originally a native of the Chu state, he fled to Wu after a vendetta against the King of Chu, assisted the King of Wu, revised the legal system to appoint talents, rewarded farmers and merchants to develop and expand grain reserves, and built cities and pools to strengthen garrisons. In history, many celebrities such as Yue Wang Gou Jian, Sun Wu, Fan Li, Xi Shi and many others were associated with Wu Zixu. Why Did Wu Zixu become a famous tomb robber in Chinese history, because of the insoluble hatred he had with King Chuping before he fled to the Kingdom of Wu. The "Zuo Biography" records that in 522 BC, Wu Zixu was framed by the Chu prince Fu Fei Wujie, his father and brother were killed by King Chu Ping, and he was forced to flee the state of Wu, and Wu Zixu vowed to avenge xue hatred and bring down the chu state. In 506 BC, the soldier Sun Wu attacked the Chu state, King Wu achieved the status of "Spring and Autumn Five Hegemons", and Wu Zixu was also given the opportunity to avenge the murder of his father and brother. According to historical records, after defeating the Chu state, wu Zixu most wanted to do something was to find the tomb of King Chu Ping. At the beginning of the search, I did not find it for a day, because in order to prevent the address of the mausoleum from being known, King Chuping had already ordered all the craftsmen who repaired the mausoleum to be killed. Thanks to the guidance of a tomb repairman who escaped by chance, Wu Zixu successfully found the tomb of King Chuping, dug his body out of the mausoleum, and whipped it with a whip to relieve his hatred, and smoked three hundred times before stopping, which is the allusion of "whipping corpse three hundred". Another theory is that Wu Zixu captured King Chu Ping's son, King Chu Zhao, and tortured him to force him to reveal the whereabouts of his father's tomb.
This matter is also recorded in the "Records of History", but Sima Qian felt that Wu Zixu's behavior was a bit too much, saying that "resentment is very bad for people". The modern academic community has also triggered the dispute between "whip corpse" and "whip grave", and some people believe that Wu Zixu did not have a real whip corpse at that time, but only whipped the mausoleum.
