Sun Wuben was a native of the State of Qi, and later defected to the State of Wu, and as a result became famous all over the world. His main achievement was to lead the weak Wu to break the strong Chu, and also help the King of Wu destroy the Yue kingdom. However, the final outcome of Sun Wu seems to have become a big mystery, and almost no one knows what happened to him.
In 514 BC, the State of Wu had an incident in which Gongzi Guang killed Wang Guan to seize the throne, and then Lu Lu became the 24th King of Wu. The wise man who helped Lu Lu sit on the throne was Wu Zixu, who later recommended his good friend Sun Wu to King Wu. In order to test Sun Wu's skills, Yan Lu specially asked him to train palace women, and as a result, others trained all the palace women obediently after beheading 2 captains. Subsequently, Sun Wu became the commander of the Wu army, and trained the army every day, and finally built the Wu soldiers into a disciplined and combat effective team.
In 506 BC, Wu launched a major attack on Chu, and finally succeeded in breaking Chu's capital. It was the end of the Spring and Autumn, and although Chu had gone downhill, after all, "no matter how thin the camel was, its shelf was also there"; and Wu Guo was like a strong horse, and no matter how strong you were, you could not compare with a camel. However, in this case, Sun Wu led 30,000 Wu soldiers to achieve a total victory in 5 battles, and then it took only more than 10 days to break the Chu Capital. These 1 battles achieved Sun Wu's great name, helped Wu Zixu avenge, and also fulfilled one of King Wu's hegemonic wishes. And Sun Wu's glory did not stop there, on the contrary, it continued.
In 496 BC, the 24-year-old Gou Jian became the king of Yue, and Lu Lu did not listen to the opposition of Wu and Sun, preferring to attack the yue kingdom, and as a result, he lost badly and lost his life. Three years later, Sun Wu and Wu Zixu attacked Yue again with Wu Bing, and beat up only about 3,000 Yue soldiers at Huiji Mountain. In the end, the Yue king was forced to surrender. At this point, Sun Wu completed the great cause of helping Wu break Chu and destroy Yue. However, the subsequent King of Wu seemed to be blinded by the victory, blindly following Xi Shi and fooling around, and even killed the hero Wu Zixu. In 484 BC, after Wu Zixu's death, Sun Wu also became missing. So where did Bing Sheng Sun Wu go?
There is no clear official account of Sun Wu's ending, the Chronicle of History, but there are 2 different versions in other historical documents. The first theory: Sun Wu was killed by King Wu. The Book of Han once said: "The disciples of Sun (Wu), Wu (Qi), Shang (Martingale), and Bai (Qi) were all killed in the front, and the merits perished in the back." According to the Book of Han, Sun Wu was killed by King Wu. Version 2, according to the "Tang Taizong Li Weigong Asks the Right Question": "If Zhang Liang, Fan Li, and Sun Wu are free from the high lead, they do not know where to go." This theory is that Sun Wu, like Zhang Liang and Fan Li, went into hiding in advance, but did not know his whereabouts.
The endings of these 2 versions of Sun Wu are a bit opposite, but later Sun Wu has a descendant, Sun Zhi, so he should not have been killed by King Wu. Because Sun Wu was a hero, it was impossible for him to be killed by King Wu without committing a great mistake, and if he committed a major crime, his family would not be spared. From this point of view, Sun Wu is most likely to return to the hidden mountain forest. It was precisely because he "retreated" in advance that this left Sun Zhen, a descendant, to once again amaze the Spring and Autumn Warring States.
