It is reported that the BMW iX uses a carbon fiber cage called Carbon Cage, which is the first model under BMW to use this frame. In addition to the inner frame of the door, the frame of the rear door and the beam in front of the roof are made of carbon fiber, the rest of the frame is heavily made of aluminum material, which ensures sufficient body stiffness while achieving excellent lightweighting.
The new car will be produced at the Dingolfing plant with other BMW SAV models and will be unveiled worldwide in June 2022. The new car features a unique body color scheme and 22-inch rims, a large amount of carbon fiber material and lightweight construction, and a drag coefficient of 0.26.
The iX M60 is equipped with M's exclusive electric drive system, the new car has a cruising range of up to 566 km under the WLTP standard, dual motors release a maximum output power of 455 kW, and when the ejection start function is activated in sport mode, it will generate a peak torque of 1100 Nm.
It has a top speed of 250 km/h, 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.8 seconds, a minimum energy consumption of 21.7 kWh per 100 km/h, and is equipped with M-exclusively tuned adaptive dual-axis air suspension and electronically controlled shock absorbers, xDrive all-wheel drive.
The entry-level iX xDrive 40 comes standard with a self-healing smart front grille, a dimmable panoramic canopy, a new BMW iDrive, an integrated floating curved screen and the AutoPilot Assist Pro. Under the CLTC standard, the cruising range can reach 455 km, the dual motor releases the maximum output power of 240 kW, accelerates in 6.1 seconds to break the 100, and consumes as little energy as 18.0 kWh per 100 km.
