When Chiang Kai-shek expelled the warlords, he had a number of good generals under his command, all of whom lost the love of those generals because of his counter-revolutionary coup, among which General Fan Songfu, who was nicknamed General Longtou, was a typical example.

Fan Songfu graduated from the 6th Engineering Section of the Baoding Army Officer School, because of the fierce style of combat, he was known as the Dragon Head General, during the Northern Expedition, he was originally Sun Chuanfang's person, Sun Chuanfang also pointed to him to fight against the Northern Expeditionary Army, but Fan Songfu's heart had actually always longed for revolution, he chose to turn against him before the battle, so that Sun Chuanfang suffered a big defeat, and the angry Sun Chuanfang directly scolded Fan Songfu as a traitor.
However, scolding Fan Songfu was useless, Sun Chuanfang's men could not defeat this rebel general at all, and after several more failures, Sun Chuanfang completely collapsed, and Fan Songfu was also promoted to acting chief of staff of the First Division of the Twenty-sixth Army of the National Revolutionary Army because of his military achievements.
Subsequently, Zhang Zuolin was killed by the Japanese, Chiang Kai-shek effortlessly recaptured Zhang Xueliang's Northeast Army, the warlords were basically wiped out, Chiang Kai-shek's vicious eyes began to turn to the Communists, Fan Songfu's combat mission also began to turn to encircling and suppressing the Red Army, he served as the chief of staff of the Eighth Army, participated in the three encirclement and suppression of the Red Army, and also pursued the Second Army and the Sixth Army of the Red Army.
However, this did not make Fan Songfu's original intention, he was extremely disgusted with Chiang Kai-shek's policy of taking care of the outside world before inside, and his previous participation in the encirclement and suppression of the Red Army was also a last resort to comply with military orders. After the Japanese army occupied the northeast, Fan Songfu repeatedly advised Chiang Kai-shek to stop the civil war and concentrate on dealing with the Japanese, but Chiang Kai-shek, who had already killed the red-eyed, could not listen to the advice at all, but became angry and relieved Fan Songfu of his military power.
It was not until the beginning of the all-out War of Resistance that Fan Songfu was reused, in which Fan Songfu did his best to fight with the Japanese ace Banyuan Division for three days and three nights, and finally annihilated 6,000 enemy troops and repelled the enemy's attack. Unfortunately, the Japanese army did not give up, and when xuzhou was attacked again, the nationalist army was unable to resist, so Xuzhou fell, and Fan Songfu had to turn to the enemy behind the enemy lines, and he served as the guerrilla commander of the Xiang'e-Gansu Border Region.
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Chiang Kai-shek abandoned Fan Songfu, so Fan Songfu simply retired from the army, and he missed the War of Liberation. After the liberation of Shanghai, Fan Songfu was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang and a representative of the people of Shanghai's Hongkou District, and officially joined the camp of our army, which can be regarded as repaying the wish of not wanting civil war.
In his later years, Fan Songfu wrote a large number of memoirs, which were of great help to the study of important historical facts in modern times. In February 1979, Fan Songfu died of illness in Shanghai.
