On January 5, Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (DFL) announced that Dongfeng Infiniti (DFI) will be included in the management system of Dongfeng Nissan (DFN) as an independent business headquarters. Along with nissan and Venucia brands, Infiniti will be DFN's third brand.

Infiniti will leverage the full DFN value chain in R&D, manufacturing and management, from planning to execution, to explore new mobility business models, contribute to Infiniti's electrification, autonomous driving, mobile Connectivity and shared mobility services, and further explore opportunities in the luxury car market.

After the integration and synergy, DFN, which owns nissan, Venucia and Infiniti brands, will focus on the high-quality development of the passenger car business, optimize the organizational and cost structure, improve decision-making and operational efficiency, strengthen corporate governance, and provide Chinese consumers with diversified products and technologies. DFL will continue to provide high-quality products and services to nissan, Venucia and Infiniti consumers. The transformation of DFI began on January 1, 2022.

In 2006, Infiniti entered the Chinese market in the form of imports, and in 2014, Dongfeng Motor Company and Nissan Motor Company jointly established Dongfeng Infiniti on a 50:50 share ratio. At the beginning of localization, Infiniti set a target of 100,000 vehicles sold in China in 2018, with more than half of its Chinese models accounting for more than half. Up to now, Infiniti has launched three domestic models: QX60, Q50L and QX50. However, as of November 2021, Infiniti's sales in China were only 7691 vehicles, down 64.7% compared with the same period in 2020. Since the localization of 7 years, Infiniti's sales in China have not exceeded 50,000 vehicles, and this year it has fallen seriously.
