According to the complaint documents, Activision included a German company , EngineOwning UG , along with numerous other individual units , accusing them of selling illegal plug-ins, deliberately undermining user agreements and engaging in unfair competition. EngineOwning is an overseas notorious shooter plug-in that affects not only Activision's Call of Duty series, but also EA's Battlefield series or Blizzard's Overwatch.
EngineOwning provides registered members with plug-ins for cheating functions such as self-aiming, perspective detection, etc. on a subscription-based fee, and even a bypass plug-in program that eliminates gun recoil and anti-cheat detection. In the complaint document, Activision stressed that EngineOwning will pay statutory damages for these violations by using malicious software to give its members an unfair advantage in gaming competition.
