From the data released by Blizzard, it can be found that in the first quarter, the new orders reflecting the sales status of the game were only $1.5 billion, down from $2.1 billion in the same period in 2021, of which $1.1 billion was added in the game, down from $1.34 billion in the same period last year. In terms of divisions, Activision saw the biggest decline, with revenue down 49% to $453 million, largely due to the decline in the call of duty series of games in the first quarter. Poor sales of the main "Call of Duty: Vanguard" at the end of last year and the decline in the number of players in the battle royale game "Call of Duty: Warzone" dragged down Activision's performance. In addition, Activision's monthly active users in the first quarter were 100 million, down a third year-on-year.

In Blizzard, its revenue fell 43% to $274 million in the first quarter, and Activision Blizzard said that the decline in the performance of the division was that the "Warcraft" series was at the trough of the product cycle. Like Activision, Blizzard is also facing player loss, with its monthly active users falling 19% to 22 million.

King, a mobile game subsidiary, became one of the few bright spots in the earnings report. Its first-quarter revenue grew 12% year-over-year to $682 million, and its mobile game Candy Legends grew by more than double digits.

In an effort to change the company's current decline in the game market, Activision Blizzard recently announced the launch date of a number of new games. Blizzard announced that Diablo Immortal will be released on June 2. Activision will launch a new call of Duty: Modern Warfare later this year.
