In the company's most recent annual report (via Charlie Intel), Activision wrote: "We continue to demonstrate the potential of our heavyweight gaming IP on the mobile side of our console and PC side. Call of Duty mobile enjoyed a record year after its launch in China, with consumers spending well over $1 billion a year on the game. ”
And more than 650 million people around the world have downloaded the call of duty mobile version, and the number of people who will experience call of duty on their mobile phones every month in 2021 is almost the same as the number of people who play it on consoles and PCs. The developer went on to talk about its upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone mobile game, which Activision previously said would be a "new AAA experience."
"We're building a sizable, talented in-house development team that's working on a mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone, and we expect it to help the Call of Duty series take the game to new heights."
Last week, it was reported that More than 3,000 Activision employees are currently working for Call of Duty. That's equivalent to more than 30 percent of Activision's entire workforce (about 9,800 people) and close to half of its total developers (6,800 people).
