Tom Henderson, a well-known source in the industry, broke some information about the new "Call of Duty" series "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2", let's take a look.
Henderson said the new work produced by the Infinity Ward group will be officially announced in June this year. This announcement is expected to have a standard trailer and will only be possible to show demo footage of campaign mode.
The sources also hint that the official expected to be announced at E3, but since E3 was cancelled this year, it may be announced at the time of Summer Games Fest 2022. The 2022 Summer Game Festival will kick off on June 9th, and if the official can announce Modern Warfare 2 before then, then the Summer Game Festival announces the campaign mode demo is a good time.
While Tom Henderson isn't sure if June 2 is the announcement date, Twitter user The GhostOfHope (who has accurately revealed the call of duty game in the past) suggests that June 2 is in fact the trailer's announcement date.
In addition to the trailer and campaign mode demo, the sources hint that Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer mode may be announced in August, but it's unclear if it will include Warzone events (the two previous Call of Duty titles both included Warzone campaigns).
In the past few weeks, the marketing campaign for Modern Warfare 2 has begun, and the Activision Infinity Ward group has unveiled the logo for the new COD game, showing that the new work is "Modern Warfare 2".
It is reported that Modern Warfare 2 will introduce a new mode called "DMZ", which is a tactical open-world mode inspired by Escape from Tarkov. Call of Duty: Warzone will also get a new name (currently tentatively set for Warzone 2), which will be officially announced later this year. While there isn't much news about Warzone 2 at the moment, the model could go live just weeks after Modern Warfare 2 goes on sale, not months later.
Finally, Modern Warfare 2 is expected to be released in October or November of this year.
