Although Japan surrendered unconditionally in 1945, the subsequent Japanese did not recognize their aggression and massacres in China at that time, which was also the thing that we hated the most.
And the heroes who threw their heads and spilled their blood on the battlefield, some lives stayed on the battlefield forever, some saw victory, but most of them also left us forever. These heroes who sacrificed and died are now buried in the martyrs' cemetery, accepting the tribute of all. There is a martyrs' cemetery in Yunnan, built to commemorate the soldiers of the Chinese Expeditionary Force who died in the battle of Tengchong during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, when the Japanese army was mainly stationed in Tengchong, and the expeditionary force suffered nearly 20,000 heroic casualties, and the battle was very tragic. At that time, the people were short of supplies, and there was no way to express much gratitude, so they had to go up the mountain themselves to pick up the bones of the expeditionary force and bury them.
At present, this martyrs' cemetery has become a national key protection unit, called "National Martyrs Cemetery", which is currently the largest martyrs' cemetery in China. This martyrs' cemetery covers an area of more than 80 acres, the park is densely packed with small tombstones, each tombstone is engraved with the name of the hero who sacrificed that year, a total of 72 lines and 3346 pieces, which looks very shocking. The martyrs' cemetery was inaugurated on July 7, 1945, so quickly just to allow our heroes to rest in peace. However, when the people went up the mountain to collect the skeletons, they found the bodies of four Japanese soldiers, and the people saw that the Japanese army was eager to use a thousand knives to relieve the hatred in their hearts, but they could not, because these four Japanese soldiers were useless.
The people also buried these four Japanese soldiers in the martyrs' cemetery, of course, they did not deserve to be martyrs, but only to make reparations for the heroes who sacrificed. At that time, many people did not agree to the Japanese army entering the martyrs' cemetery, and after discussion, the four Japanese soldiers were allowed to kneel below the kneeling position before they were allowed to be buried in the martyrs' cemetery. The people tied these four Japanese soldiers with ropes and made a kneeling posture, just to let these four Japanese soldiers replace the Japanese to give Chinese martyrs, apologize to the Chinese, and kneel here to atone for their sins in order to comfort the heroes' spirits in heaven.
The people also made tombstones for these four Japanese troops, specially erected inscriptions, on which were clearly written the words "倭娘纓", which was a derogatory term for Japan, which shows how much the people hated the Japanese army at that time. These four Japanese soldiers in the Chinese Martyrs' Cemetery are not only a consolation for the heroes who died, but also let future generations see it and always remember this tragic history!
After Japan's defeat in the war, the main criminal did not even get retribution, which is completely unacceptable to every Son and Daughter of China. But even so, Japan has been trying to cover up its crimes and try to erase this period of history. Do thousands of human lives mean that they can be erased if they are erased? Later, Japan also wanted to return the bones of these four kneeling Japanese soldiers, but we directly refused, in order to make them kneel permanently.
And this tombstone is also a testimony to the crimes of the Japanese army in China, and with the existence of these things, Japan's heinous crimes cannot be erased!
