After the War of Resistance Against Japan entered a white-hot stage, the Japanese army was not satisfied with the current interests gained in China, so it successively opened up the Pacific Theater and the Burma Battlefield in an attempt to dominate the Pacific region with its own strength. After the Japanese army vigorously attacked Burma, the mainland also attracted great attention, because Myanmar is adjacent to the mainland Yunnan, so this is directly related to the safety of the mainland's rear. At that time, the Nationalist government was also well aware of the importance of the rear, so under a boiling conscription, the Chinese expeditionary force entered the Burmese battlefield under the leadership of General Dai Anlan.

Despite the harsh fighting and conditions in Burma, the expeditionary force officers still adhered to the belief of defending their homeland and resolutely fought the Japanese army to the death. In the more than three years of fighting in Burma, the expeditionary force made great sacrifices and finally completed the heavy task of recovering the lost land of Burma and defending the rear of the mainland.
But on the brutal battlefield, there are always many lonely stories, and everything is not perfect. After the expeditionary force returned home, more than 3,000 soldiers were stranded in Burma for various reasons, and they had to make it their lifelong wish, but in the end they did not realize it. A 96-year-old veteran of the Chinese Expeditionary Force, who has been wandering in a foreign country for 67 years, refuses to enter a foreign nationality and longs to return to China!
The veteran is called Liu Recall, his hometown is in Guang'an, Sichuan, but after being stranded in China, he and his hometown have become two regrets that are difficult to reach. For various reasons, Liu Hui had to start a new life in Myanmar, he went to the countryside to follow the customs, married his wife and had children, and constantly adapted to local life. At that time, the Burmese government had hoped that he could join Burma several times, but each time he was recalled by Liu Hui and refused, because in his mind, he was always Chinese, and he could not go back for the time being.
Liu Hui's life in Myanmar is very unsatisfactory, and he often lives a depressed life, but fortunately, he still takes root, and future generations have begun to make a difference. However, he always had the desire to return to his hometown, and this desire grew stronger with age, until 2009, Liu Recall finally embarked on a journey back to China with the help of the media and volunteers, and at this moment, he has been wandering in a foreign country for 67 years.
Although it is unlikely that the fallen leaves will return to the roots, his wish has been realized, and Liu Recall is still very happy to recall the old man. Just a year after his return to China, at the age of 96, he completed his life, and the old man who did not leave a will would surely go all the way.
