A 96-year-old veteran of the Chinese Expeditionary Force, who has been wandering in a foreign country for 67 years, refuses to enter a foreign nationality, and only desires to return to China!

At the end of World War II, China sent expeditionary forces to assist Burma against the Japanese invaders. In order to win the war, China sent 300,000 troops at that time. In the end, the Chinese expeditionary force took three years to finally annihilate the entire Japanese army in Burma and achieved victory. But the war is cruel, many soldiers of our army have fallen on the battlefield of Burma, and many of them have been too badly injured to keep up with the team, or lost in the mountains and forests, becoming "missing soldiers", and the person we want to talk about today is one of them. He is a 96-year-old veteran of the Chinese Expeditionary Force, who has been living in a foreign country for 67 years, but refuses to become a foreign nationality and has always longed to return to his homeland. So, who is this person?

His name was Liu Huiwei and he was born in Yuechi County, Guang'an, Sichuan. In 1941, Liu Recall followed his troops to northern Burma and western Yunnan to engage the Japanese army, participated in many major battles such as counterattacking Gaoligong Mountain and Guangfu Tengchong, and made great contributions to the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan. Liu Hui showed great bravery in the battlefield and annihilated many enemy troops, but he was also seriously wounded many times. In his later years, Liu Recall lamented that his life was picked up from the "blood water".

On August 15, 1945, Japan publicly announced its surrender to the world, and the War of Resistance Against Japan finally ended, but Liu Recall was unable to return to the motherland for various reasons. After that, in northern Myanmar, Lashio lived an anonymous life and started his own family, but always refused to become a Burmese citizen. In Liu Hui's heart, he has always longed to return to China one day. During his life in Myanmar, his life has been very difficult, even if he is more than 70 years old, he still has to carry his burden to the street stalls to support his family.

In 2009, with the help of the media and volunteers, Liu Recall finally returned to his hometown, and after that, he returned to his hometown to visit many times. Unfortunately, the recall's desire to settle in his hometown has never been realized. In 2017, Liu Recall died in Lashio, Myanmar, and not being able to return to China to spend his old age became the biggest regret of his life. In fact, after the end of the War of Resistance Against Japan, there were about 3,000 Chinese expeditionary troops stranded in Burma, but no more than 5 people are still alive today, which is very heart-wrenching. These veterans who once fought for the motherland are leaving us one by one. Those of us who live in peacetime should remember their exploits and always be grateful to them.
