He was highly ranked as the commissar of the corps, but had no rank, but his later achievements set a record

As we all know, when our army was first awarded the title in 1955, many people missed the opportunity to confer the title because they transferred to local work, such as Tan Qilong, who was one of the representatives.

In February 1949, after the reorganization of the Third Field Army, it had 4 major corps under its jurisdiction, of which the commander of the 7th Corps was Wang Jian'an, and the political commissar was Tan Qilong, so if Tan Qilong could participate in the awarding of the title, if not a general, at least the lieutenant general could not run.

Tan Qilong, a native of Yongxin County, Jiangxi Province, joined the revolution in 1928 at the age of 15, because of his flexible mind and positive self-motivation, and later became the captain of the Young Pioneers of Xianggan Province.

After the Red Army's Long March began, Tan Qilong stayed with Mr. Chen, insisted on guerrilla warfare, and experienced nine deaths, but fortunately, he miraculously survived.

After the outbreak of the All-out War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in 1937, Tan Qilong's unit was reorganized into the Second Column of the New Fourth Army's Jiangsu-Zhejiang Military Region, he served as the political commissar, and led the troops to gradually become famous in eastern Zhejiang, becoming an anti-Japanese strong brigade that could recruit good warriors.

At the end of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Eastern Zhejiang Column was ordered to withdraw north. At that time, Tan Qilong's second son had just been born, and before he was a full moon, he had to be raised by a local villager named Weng Dahua. At that time, Weng Dahua also had a child, only 4 months older than Tan Qilong's child.

In fact, Tan Qilong is worried, because he is too famous in eastern Zhejiang, and after he leaves, the reactionaries will definitely retaliate madly, let alone let go of his children.

At this time, Weng Dahua said: Commissar Tan has great kindness to our eastern Zhejiang, and without him, where would we have a good life? Therefore, she did not hesitate to abandon her child, holding Tan Qilong's child and retreating north with the troops.

Later, Weng Dahua was unfortunately killed in a battle. Tan Qilong was busy with the war and did not properly deal with her aftermath, and he always felt very guilty in his heart.

Until after the liberation, Tan Qilong specially brought his two sons to zhejiang, and after many searches, he finally found Weng Dahua's own son and let the three children become brothers.

Tan Qilong was the political commissar of the 7th Corps in the Third Field Army, but after the founding of the Country, he left the army and transferred to local work, so he lost his rank. However, Tan Qilong's later position was no lower than that of the founding general, and even set a record!

What is the record? That is, he has successively served as the secretary of the provincial party committee of zhejiang, Shandong, Fujian, Qinghai, and Sichuan provinces, and has also served as the political commissar of the Jinan Military Region, the political commissar of the Zhejiang Provincial Military Region, and the political commissar of the Sichuan Provincial Military Region.

When Tan Qilong was in Zhejiang, he also did one thing and got the gratitude of the Jiang family.

In the early days of liberation, the common people hated Chiang Kai-shek so much that his house in Fenghua Xikou, Zhejiang Province, was badly damaged. After Tan Qilong learned of this incident, he specially asked the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee to issue a notice to protect Chiang Kai-shek's property and ancestral grave.

In order to ensure that the work was carried out as soon as possible, Tan Qilong went to Chiang Kai-shek's old mansion to organize personnel to restore the old mansion to its original appearance, and also repaired the place where Chiang Kai-shek was placed under house arrest and Where Zhang Xueliang was placed under house arrest.

Decades later, the descendants of the Jiang family returned to their hometown and specially entrusted people to convey their gratitude to Tan Qilong.

In 1982, Tan Qilong was 69 years old, actively responded to the call of the central government on "the rejuvenation of cadres", and was the first among the secretaries of the provincial party committee to apply for retirement.

On January 22, 2003, Tan Qilong died of illness in Jinan at the age of 90, completing his brilliant life.
