On October 17, 1908, a baby boy was born in Anzigou Village, Dongyue Township, Guang'an County, Sichuan Province, and his father Liu Dingzhong named him Liu Tianfu. Liu Tianfu's great-grandfather was a famous local Chinese medicine doctor, hanging pot ji shi, the family has a lot of land, life is very solid. But from his grandfather onwards, the family began to decline. In his father's generation, the family only has 12 acres of land, which can only meet self-sufficiency, and in the face of natural and man-made disasters, the family sometimes cannot open the pot.

Although his father, Liu Dingzhong, did not know a few big characters, he hoped that his son Liu would study hard and change the fate of the family. When Liu Tianfu was 9 years old, his father sent him to a private school to study the "Three Character Classic", "Analects", "University" and other readings. After the "May Fourth" Movement, Guang'an also opened many new-style primary schools, and Liu went to Dongyue Township Primary School to study. He studied hard, studied hard, and his grades were always at the top of the class.

After graduating from high school, Liu Tianfu was admitted to the county junior high school, relying on his father's loan and his grandfather's financial support, although he only read for three semesters, he met the person who changed the path of his life - Deng Zhongqi. Deng Zhongqi was the younger brother of Deng Xiaoping and later changed his name to Deng Ken. If there is no Deng Zhongqi, Liu Tianfu may have been a teacher in this life, spending this life plainly.

During the study period, Liu Tianfu and Deng Zhongqi were like-minded, and the young style of the classmates was flourishing, and the two were very talkative. Later, Liu Tianfu met Deng Xiaoping through Deng Zhongqi and embarked on the revolutionary road from then on. In the autumn of 1926, Liu was admitted to Jialing Senior High School in Nanchong, Sichuan. In his second year of high school, in 1928, Deng Zhongqi, who was studying in Chengdu, was wanted by the reactionaries for participating in the student national salvation movement and fled back to Jialing High School to study.

During this period, under the guidance of Deng Zhongqi, Liu Tianfu began to contact the party's progressive ideas and understand the new world outside. After graduating from high school, he was assigned to Guang'an County Primary School as a Chinese language teacher. At that time, the social background was dark and corrupt, there was wanton aggression by the great powers on the outside, and there was corruption and incompetence of the government on the inside, and the small county town of Guang'an really could not settle Liu Tianfu's unstable heart. The world is big, he's going to see it.

In June 1931, Liu Tianfu went to Shanghai to find Deng Zhongqi and met Deng Xiaoping, who was also a fellow Guang'an resident. With the help of the Deng Xiaoping brothers, Liu was admitted to the Kuomintang Central Political School in Nanjing. Shortly after going to school, the "918" incident broke out in the northeast that shocked China and foreign countries, Zhang Xueliang's army withdrew to Guannei, and soon the northeast fell, and Chiang Kai-shek was still implementing the policy of "foreign countries must first be inside.". Liu Tianfu was in the Kuomintang's Central Political School, very disappointed and dissatisfied with the Kuomintang, he decided to suspend his school, and Liu Tianfu, who returned to his hometown, continued to teach at the county middle school.

But at this time, the Chinese revolution was in full swing, and patriotic young people were struggling hard for the salvation of the country. After he thought about it carefully, being a teacher was not his life, and it was his mission to participate in the revolution. After teaching for a semester, he returned to Shanghai again and found Deng Zhongqi, who was teaching at Huiping Middle School. Under the introduction of Deng Zhongqi, in October 1934, the 26-year-old Liu Tianfu joined the party and embarked on the road of revolution.

In December 1935, Liu Tianfu was unfortunately arrested and imprisoned by the Kuomintang. In prison, he knew that since he had joined the party, he would not be able to betray his oath to join the party for the rest of his life, and he fought resolutely against the reactionaries and strengthened his revolutionary faith. In August 1937, the Japanese army launched the "August 13" Incident and launched a full-scale attack on Shanghai. After many rescues, Liu returned to the party organization.

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Liu Tianfu was sent to the field service team of the Kuomintang 8th Group Army to actively organize the work of resisting Japan and saving the country and the united national front. Subsequently, he went to Guangdong to carry out work in the anti-Japanese base areas behind enemy lines. During the Liberation War, Liu Tianfu served as deputy director of the political department of the Liangguang Column, followed the column to participate in the battles of Eastern Henan, Jinan, Huaihai, and Guangdong, and brilliantly completed the combat tasks entrusted by his superiors.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Liu has been working in Guangdong Province. Faced with the situation of a hundred wastes waiting to be rebuilt, he led the masses of the people to complete the tasks of military takeover, consolidation of political power, elimination of bandits and anti-hegemony, land reform, and agricultural co-operation. Due to the outstanding completion of his mission, he was appointed Vice Governor of Guangdong Province. Although his position has been elevated, his desire to serve the people has not changed, and he often goes deep into the grassroots to investigate and solve the pain points of the people.

After 1966, during that special period, Liu Tian was also knocked down and transferred from his post. But he was loyal to the party, firm in his convictions, and believed that sooner or later the dark clouds would clear. He returned to work in 1972 and remained the governor of Guangdong Province until February 1981, at the age of 62.

At that time, Guangdong Province was in the early stage of reform and opening up, and Liu Tianfu, without any ready-made experience to learn from, fully applied the special policies entrusted by the central authorities, directly led the early construction of the two special zones of Shenzhen and Zhuhai, vigorously promoted the household contract responsibility system, fully delegated power to local governments, expanded enterprise autonomy, and invigorated urban and rural circulation, effectively mobilized the enthusiasm of local work, and made great contributions to Guangdong's reform and opening up.

After Liu Tianfu listened, he directly said: "Half a billion people in the country, can I arrange work?" Go home and be a good person, do things seriously, have the ability and ability, and the work will naturally be there. In 1980, Liu Tianfu returned to his hometown of Guang'an, where he had been away for 46 years, and while visiting the villagers, he did not forget to tell his family not to cause trouble to the government and to work hard.

On April 21, 2002, Liu Tianfu died in Beijing at the age of 95 due to ineffective medical treatment. Looking back on Liu Tianfu's life, he came from the revolutionary war years, ran for the happiness of the people, worked diligently, without complaint, and paid tribute to the old predecessors!
