When a baby is born, parents are extra careful. However, newborn babies have some special physiological phenomena, many times we may think that the baby is sick, in fact, these phenomena are very common, don't think that the baby is sick, go to the hospital to spend money, let's take a look!
1. Flexion of the limbs
From birth to full moon, the limbs of the newborn baby are always in a state of flexion and curling, the upper limbs are "W" shaped, the lower limbs are "M" shaped, parents do not worry, this is a healthy newborn baby normal performance of muscle tone.

As the baby's age increases, the curled limbs will gradually stretch, parents should not forcibly bind and straighten the child's limbs, otherwise it will affect the growth of its bones.
2. Peeling
Almost all newborns experience peeling, which is caused by the incomplete development of the stratum corneum of the newborn skin, the underdeveloped basement membrane of the skin, and the insufficient connection between the epidermal and dermis layers.
Peeling is a normal physiological phenomenon, with the baby's development will gradually improve, without special protection, we usually give the baby a bath normal application of emollient oil or moisturizer on the line.
3. "Horse teeth" and "mantis mouth"
Newborns usually grow white bumps the size of rice grains or mung beans on the gums, which look like small teeth that have just erupted, which is commonly known as "horse teeth".
If the newborn has a layer of fat in the mouth that helps to suck the two cheeks, which is medically called the buccal lipid body is too developed, the two cheeks will protrude to the mouth, commonly known as the "mantis mouth".
Both "horse teeth" and "mantis mouths" are normal physiological phenomena that do not require special treatment.
4. Strabismus
In general, because the newborn's eyeballs have not been fixed and the eye muscles are poorly regulated, most babies will have temporary strabismus, and some will also have eyes.
This strabismus is a normal physiological phenomenon, and parents do not have to panic too much. If your child is still strabismus after 3 months, he should seek medical attention in time.
5. Physiological jaundice
Neonatals generally begin to develop jaundice on the 3rd day after birth, which is caused by the immature development of the liver enzyme phylogenetics in newborns, and the indirect production of bilirubin is too much to be excreted in time.
Normal jaundice usually resolves spontaneously after 7 to 10 days, and parents do not have to worry too much.
If the child has jaundice within 24 hours of birth, or the jaundice develops too quickly, lasts too long, and even has symptoms such as anemia, abnormal body temperature, bad milk, vomiting, abnormal color of the stool, etc., it is pathological jaundice, and the child should be taken to the hospital for treatment in time.
6. Defecation
Within 2 days of birth, the stool discharged by the newborn is dark green or dark brown, which is commonly referred to as "fetal stool". After 3 to 4 days, the baby's stool will slowly turn yellow, indicating that the fetal stool has been drained and the child's intestines have been unblocked.
7. Weight loss
2 to 5 days after birth, due to the mother's lactation ability and the child's sucking ability is not high, the child can not absorb enough water and nutrients, the phenomenon of weight loss will occur. After 1 week, the child can eat normally and the weight is no longer lost.
8. Irregular breathing
Newborn babies have relatively shallow breathing movements, fast breathing rate, about 40 breaths per minute, and breathing is generally unstable, often a burst of rapid breathing, and then become slow, and sometimes there is a short pause in breathing, parents do not have to worry too much about this.
If after 1 week, the child's breathing rate exceeds 60 times per minute, it may be that the breathing is faster, and it is recommended to go to the hospital in time.
9. Enlarged breasts
Affected by the mother's hormones, newborns, regardless of men and women, usually appear breast enlargement within 1 week of birth, and sometimes lactate, which is also a normal physiological phenomenon, no treatment is required, do not squeeze and rub the child's breast.
10. "False menstruation"
Due to the influence of estrogen in the mother's body, newborn female babies will have vaginal bleeding or discharge of white discharge similar to vaginal discharge within 3 to 7 days after birth, which is called "false menstruation", which is a normal physiological phenomenon in the neonatal period.
This phenomenon generally disappears naturally in 3 to 4 days, without special treatment, just wash the baby's vulva and buttocks after urinating and defecating.
The road to raising a baby is a long way to go, newborn babies need to be more careful, especially as a novice parent, sometimes they may be busy, which requires us to continue to learn parenting knowledge and continue to practice with the baby.
