Su Shi (8 January 1037 – 24 August 1101), a native of Meishan, Meizhou (present-day Meishan, Sichuan), was a native of Meishan, Sichuan. A famous writer and politician of the Northern Song Dynasty. Together with Huang Tingjian, he is called "Su Huang". Together with Xin, he is called "Su Xin". Together with Ouyang Xiu, he is called "Ou Su", one of the "Eight Great Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties" and one of the "Four Families of the Song Dynasty".

Su Shi has achieved achievements in prose, poetry, words and endowments, and is good at calligraphy and painting, and his works include "Seven Collections of Dongpo", "Yichuan of Dongpo", "Dongpo Lefu", "Xiaoxiang Bamboo Stone Picture Scroll", "Dead Wood Strange Stone Picture Scroll" and so on. Wang Zongji of the Song Dynasty received his works and compiled the Complete Works of Su Wenzhonggong.
