Liu Wenxi was born in 1933 in Shengzhou, Zhejiang Province. He is currently an advisor to the China Art Association, an advisor to the Shaanxi Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, a vice chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Artists Association, an honorary president of the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, a dean of the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts Research Institute, and an expert with outstanding contributions nationwide. He was a member of the All-China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the vice chairman of the China Art Association, a member of the Chinese Painting Art Committee, a member of the Chinese Painting Jury of previous national art exhibitions, and the winner of the title of the first batch of 100 famous teachers in China. His works have been exhibited in dozens of countries and regions, and he and his wife Chen Guangjian have held two-person exhibitions in various parts of the country, and his important works include "Chairman Mao and the Shepherd", "The Orient", "Heaven in the Liberated Areas" and the huge series of long volumes "Loess People" and nearly 100 paintings.
At about 13:50 on July 7, 2019, Mr. Liu Wenxi, a representative of the Chinese Loess School, died of illness at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University at the age of 86.
