Nie Li was born in 1930, a war-torn 1930 mother, Zhang Ruihua, an early underground member of the Communist Party of China, who later served as a member of the Central Discipline Inspection Commission and the head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. Nie Li's parents were married after the Guangzhou uprising.
Now it seems that the encounter between the two is quite dramatic.
Zhang Ruihua is a native of Xinyang, Henan, and his father is a feudal and patriarchal landlord who basically ignores this daughter. Zhang Ruihua had to study while doing odd jobs, and tried his best to be admitted to Xinyang Normal School.
There, he came into contact with underground CCP members and joined the revolutionary activities at the age of 16.
In 1926, Zhang Ruihua joined the party through the recommendation of his teacher and became an underground traffic officer who had passed on many pieces of intelligence for our party. In the second year after joining the party, she was ordered to go to the front line and follow the health team to Wuhan to rescue the soldiers of our party who were injured in the "April 12 coup", and then she was arranged by the organization to go south to participate in the Nanchang uprising.
There she met Nie Rongzhen, but the two had little intersection, and she didn't know that fate had already linked them together.
In August 1927, the Party Central Committee ordered the Nanchang Uprising to be launched, and Nie Rongzhen, who was heavily responsible, had to run everywhere to persuade the Twenty-fifth Division to participate in the uprising and participate in the reorganization of the rebel army.
Subsequently, he served as a party representative of the Eleventh Army and arrived in Guangdong with the army.
In December of the same year, the Guangzhou Uprising broke out, the rebel army still failed after three days and nights of bloody battle, the reactionary forces carried out a crazy suppression of the rebel army, and at the critical moment, Nie Rongzhen and Ye Ting resolutely issued a retreat order together.
Nearly 1,200 men of the teaching regiment and the remnants of the rebel army were retained.

During the Guangzhou Uprising, Zhang Ruihua, as a weak woman, also took up a shell gun on the battlefield and followed the organization to arrest hundreds of reactionaries in the purge movement. After the failure of the Guangzhou Uprising, the rebel army had to hide everywhere under the siege of the reactionary forces.
Mr. Zhang took shelter at the home of a local comrade-in-arms and did not have to move to Hong Kong until a week later.
Unexpectedly, on the third day of her escape to Hong Kong, Nie Rongzhen, after properly handling the aftermath of the uprising, organized and appointed him as the secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, and ordered him to go to Hong Kong to continue underground work.
After Zhang Ruihua arrived in Hong Kong, she once again became an underground confidential traffic officer of our party, and she and Nie Rongzhen had a lot of intersection in their work.
Gradually developing a good feeling for each other, they soon submitted a marriage application to the organization.
In April 1928, the two formed a family together, and a year later Zhang Ruihua became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter Nie Li in the autumn of 1930, which was also the only descendant of Marshal Nie Rongzhen.
Zhang Ruihua suffered a difficult delivery during childbirth, and Nie Rongzhen was running around for a task at that time, unable to accompany his wife. Three days after Nie Li was born, the father and daughter were able to meet.
Unfortunately, within a few days, he received orders from the organization to continue the revolutionary work.
The time for the family of three to get together was actually very short, and in 1931 the revolutionary situation was even more severe, and Nie Rongzhen had to be separated from his wife and daughter and go to the Central Soviet Area as quickly as possible.
Zhang Ruihua had to raise his daughter alone, the mother and daughter were unfortunately arrested by the reactionary forces in 1934, and Nie Li was unable to escape the clutches of the devil at a young age and was imprisoned in the Prison of the British Concession. After a month of torture and interrogation, Zhang Ruihua never revealed his identity, which allowed him to be released. But soon after, she became acutely aware that the mother and daughter were being watched by agents.
In 1935, Zhang Ruihua had to put Nie Li in the homes of his comrades-in-arms, and he was sent by the organization to continue his revolutionary work, until 1946, when Nie Li was taken to Beiping to return to his parents.
At this time, she was 16 years old, but she had not been serious about going to school for a few days.
