Worried about the new crown Microsoft cancels the offline release of CES2022

With the growing popularity of Omi clones, Microsoft is the latest company to abandon CES, which scares exhibitors. It joins a growing list of big companies abandoning the world's largest tech show.

Worried about the new crown Microsoft cancels the offline release of CES2022

"After reviewing the latest data on the rapidly evolving COVID environment, Microsoft has decided not to attend CES 2022 in person," a spokesperson for the company said in an emailed statement. (The spokesperson declined to name them because Microsoft prefers to announce the change in activity status in this way.) Instead, the company will provide digital displays for Microsoft partner innovation experiences and automotive news kits.

Microsoft was once a major exhibitor at the technology conference and is now the latest company to say it will not attend. Lenovo, T-Mobile, Amazon, the company formerly known as Facebook, General Motors, Intel, Twitter and Google have all pulled out citing concerns about COVID-19. As a new variant swept through the population, the prevalence of the disease in the United States rose rapidly again.

Yesterday, CES organizers insisted the campaign would continue and demanded vaccination certificates, masks and free quick tests. On Wednesday, the Consumer Technology Association, which organized the event, said 42 exhibitors had canceled their participation.
