Huawei chips were discontinued for 16 months
Unfortunately, as a Chinese mobile phone giant, huawei, although catching up in the 4G era, can eventually compete with Apple and Samsung's international mobile phone manufacturers. However, after the advent of the 5G era, it has gradually fallen off the altar.
Of course, the main reason why Huawei has not been able to catch the ride in the 5G era is that Huawei chips have been forced to stop production.
In May 2020, a paper ban from the United States made Huawei usher in the first blow - after September 15, chip giants such as TSMC and SMIC no longer have the qualification to manufacture chips for Huawei.
Although in the face of the chip ban in the United States, Huawei has long foreseen and has taken the lead in hoarding a lot of chips. However, the trend of chip suspension for 16 months has not stopped, Huawei's hoarded chips have long been used, and Huawei's high-end mobile phone business has been affected due to the obstruction of chip supply, which is completely reasonable.
Apple still lost
Since the supply of Huawei chips has been blocked, many domestic and foreign mobile phone manufacturers have been eyeing the tiger and are riveting to maximize huawei's market share in China's high-end mobile phone market.
It was thought that the shortage of Huawei chips led to the obstruction of mobile phone shipments, which would directly affect Huawei's development in the current domestic smartphone market. But this does not seem to be the case.
On December 21, the relevant research institutions in the industry announced the "5G mobile phone brand share in the third quarter of 2021" list, from the list data ranking, after Huawei "fell", Apple still lost.
In the domestic 5G smartphone market, Huawei is still the hegemon of the 5G mobile phone field, ranking first in the market with a market share of 30.7%. Domestic mobile phone manufacturers such as vivo and OPPO followed Huawei, taking the second and third place positions, but the market share was only 16.1% and 14.6% respectively. Apple's mobile phone ranked fourth with a market share of 12.5%.
Huawei's chip supply is limited, and almost no new 5G machines have been released in the past 1 year, but it can still rank first in the current domestic 5G market share, which is enough to show Huawei's strength. If it is not affected by chip supply, Huawei's 5G mobile phone shipments will be even better.
Why does Huawei's 5G mobile phone rank first in the industry?
But then again, although the current Huawei in the domestic 5G mobile phone brand market rate topped the top, it is gratifying. However, it is a fact that Huawei's chip supply is cut off, and it is also a fact that the development of Huawei's 5G mobile phones has been blocked. That being the case, why does Huawei's 5G mobile phone rank first in the industry?
The author believes that there are only two reasons for this.
First of all, Huawei has accumulated considerable advantages in the early stage of 5G development, with a huge mobile phone base.
Before the chip was cut off, Huawei's (including Honor's) 5G mobile phone shipments have always been the industry leader, and even industry insiders revealed that for every 5 5G mobile phones sold before, 3 came from Huawei. Since consumers have a long cycle for upgrading high-end mobile phone products, it is not difficult to understand that Huawei mobile phones still have a considerable market share at present.
Secondly, the launch of Huawei's Hongmeng system has delayed the frequency of replacement machines for some Huawei users to a certain extent.
According to the author's understanding, at present, Huawei's Hongmeng system has cumulatively supported 120 new and old Models of Huawei for update and upgrade, and some users have postponed the previous idea of replacing the machine in order to try the Huawei Hongmeng system.

However, for the current Huawei, although based on the various advantages accumulated before, it will not be eliminated in the fiercely competitive 5G market. However, if the impact of chip supply cannot be solved in the follow-up, it is only a matter of time before it becomes the ranks of Others.
