Chinese Pastoral Landscape School

Abbreviation: Chinese pastoral painting school, pastoral school

Full name: Chinese pastoral freehand landscape painting school

The Chinese Pastoral Landscape School belongs to the category of postmodernism, which is a pure lyrical realism freehand landscape painting school, the first national landscape school with postmodernist characteristics that occurred in China from the Sichuan Basin in southwest China in the first half of the 21st century. The friends of the Chinese Pastoral Landscape School are deeply aware that the social trend and artistic thinking of the mainland will experience a long era of the return of artistic rationality of beauty. Strive to change the so-called many "strange" phenomena in the contemporary art period, to depict natural scenery, rural scenery and comfortable and idyllic rural life as artistic pursuits; take the landscape and pastoral as the aesthetic object, re-excavate the aesthetic preferences of the Chinese's heart, continue to carry forward the artistic characteristics that are not interfered with by non-artistic factors, and let the artistic development return to the refreshing, fresh and simple pure artistic road; the delicate brushstrokes are thrown into the quiet mountains and forests, leisurely fields, creating an idyllic pastoral life with oriental atmosphere. In order to express the praise and yearning for a quiet and peaceful life, while announcing the end of the so-called "ugly art" era in contemporary art.

Expression:

Figurative, imagery, abstraction, mental imagery, casual.

Chinese Pastoral Landscape School 2021 Exhibition

Artistic Concept:

What is thought and painted is only related to art. It does not exclude or conflict with any other artistic pursuit and art group; the promotion of a widely absorbed and pluralistic artistic approach in creation is both a continuation of ancient and modernist art and a development of them. Based on the traditional European realism method and combined with the Chinese freehand spirit, it mainly shows the social changes and pastoral scenery of China and some European and American countries in the first half of the 21st century, especially the pastoral scenery of the Sichuan Basin, lakes and swamps, mountain stone trees, rural village residences, ancient village old shops, celebrity relics, etc. Deeply in love with this land and people, expressing the beauty of social progress and natural beauty, as well as the beauty of secular life. The beauty of art cannot be expressed entirely in words, but can only be expressed by art. "Inclusion and Coexistence", "Inheritance and Innovation". Everyone respects each other's artistic pursuits, "seeking commonality in individuality, pursuing individuality in commonality"; "everyone has beautiful songs in their hearts, and their favorite paintings in their pens"; "no one restricts anyone, no one changes anyone". The pursuit of art is one's own business, and the path of art is chosen by oneself. Go your own way, walk well or not, all depend on your own efforts.

Direction of development:

The roots are in the West, also in China, the development direction is in China, but also in the world; that is, adhere to the ontology of oil painting, limited absorption of Chinese freehand techniques, visual feelings are still oil paintings rather than Chinese paintings; adhere to the nationalization of oil paintings, painting Chinese landscapes with Chinese aesthetic preferences. Here we should emphasize that Chinese landscapes are mainly painting the real mountains and rivers of the motherland and landscape oil paintings with Chinese flavor. Study hard and seriously study the thick world and the history of the development of Chinese landscape oil painting, especially the Dutch Small Painting School in the 17th century, the French Barbizon School in the 19th century, the Impressionism and Chinese vernacular painting in the 1980s, the Sichuan-Western style painting, the freehand oil painting in the early 21st century, the southern Chinese oil painting landscape painting school and so on. Strive to learn from Monet, Pissarro, Sisley, Corot, Dubini, Leviathan, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Restal, Vermeer, Wu Guanzhong, Shen Xinggong, Jian Chongmin, Ma Yiping, Wang Jialing, Weng Kaixuan, Zhang Dongfeng, Bai Yuping, Luo Xiaohang, Zhang Guozhong, Qu Xiangjian and other Chinese and foreign landscape painters, the consciousness of thinking rushed out of the basin, and the artistic soul returned to the basin. Drawing on Jingguan Dongju, Li LiuMaxia, Ni Zhan, Shen Zhou, Zhao Lingyong and other ancient Chinese landscape paintings, everyone's treatment of mountain stone trees, smoke and mist, waterfront Tingzhou, and village residence Yedu, living in modern times, chasing the ancients. "Sightseeing in the mountains and rivers, looking for the past". Learn from the predecessors and strive to break through the predecessors; have the roots of art, and strive to find the direction of development. Do not be a blind admirer of Western art, nor will you be an arrogant xenophobic of Yelang; in this continuous development, the Chinese pastoral landscape painting school occurred in this era and grew up in this era. The Taihang Mountains are the cultural home of Chinese landscape painting, and the Sichuan Basin is the spiritual home of Chinese pastoral landscape oil painting. Trace the artistic conception of the ancient Chinese pastoral school, and strive to continue to carry forward the Chinese nation's feelings of "loving the countryside and good landscapes". The works reflect more leisurely thoughts and emotions, with elegant colors and quiet artistic conceptions. Taking poetry and painting as the pursuit direction of Chinese landscapes and Sichuan-style landscapes, he mostly uses realistic and freehand expression techniques to express his inner feelings. In terms of discovering natural beauty, it not only describes the majestic and magnificent scenery in a general way, but also depicts the microscopic dynamics of the small bridge and the flowing water people in detail. Behold, but not avoid the world; nostalgic, but not old-fashioned. In the era of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, the influence of the Su, Fa, German and American schools on Chinese oil painting has gradually drifted away, and the Chinese pastoral landscape painting school should be born from time to time. The Chinese Pastoral Landscape School has typical characteristics of the times and Chinese characteristics, and the painter pursues the beauty of the original hometown from the perspective of world art and modernity. There is a state of art returning to innocence, without the meaning of retro, and strives to push forward the interest of Chinese landscape oil painting.

Content Topic:

The diversity of content themes does not break through the concept of landscape oil painting for the time being; put an end to artistic stylization and uniformity, adhere to the main creation of sketching, and in the case of insufficient conditions, also reference materials or use network sketching to create. Big themes, small incisions; one painting and one scene, each painting different. "Mountains and rivers are ruthless and woody, and people have feelings." The subject matter is diverse, and the landscapes, flowers, characters, and themes are all good, but they are mainly landscape oil paintings.

Artistic Thinking:

Never meet the existing level, do not be arrogant, study hard, meditate and specialize, and constantly improve. There is no need to look at problems and look at art with fixed thinking, believing that "uncertainty is a kind of beauty" and that art is the eternal spiritual sustenance of human beings. The theory of art evolution and the theory of the single-line development of art are incorrect, art is a pluralistic development and dendritic multilinear development. Firmly believe that as long as there are human beings, art will not die...

The name of the Chinese Pastoral Landscape School is standard:

On January 21, 2021, Mr. Liu Guoshu, the "father of Sichuan-American oil painting" and a highly respected person, wrote an inscription at the new campus of the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in Chongqing University Town at the age of 101.

Conclusion:

All members voluntarily contribute to the development of the school and enrich the works, theories and ideas of the school. The growth and development of this school is the result of the joint efforts of all members, the result of the attention and support of all sectors of society, and the crystallization of collective wisdom. Everyone voluntarily invited high-level painters and teachers in the Sichuan Basin who are very passionate about the creation of pastoral landscape oil paintings. Invite as much as possible not to have selfish intentions, to look at the picture, to know the preferences; "on the painting, regardless of the person; on the long, no matter the short" . Geographical proximity, closeness of people, landscape oil painting sketches in the Sichuan Basin have x like-minded painters, teachers, voluntary contact members to apply for participation (x = from 2017 to increase 5 pieces per year, in 2022 new members to participate in at least 30 of their own or everyone recognized good sketching works, in the art world has a certain influence and high level of artists The number and region of works are not absolutely strict requirements, I hope that everyone will abide by this rule. The number of regulations are tentative, and the number of works required for participation in the future will only increase, please be cautious). Annual exhibition planning and editing time: December 1-20, 30 final draft. Voluntary principle: WeChat forwards 5 pictures of works of that year or pictures of old works that have not been exhibited to the editors; editors are voluntary and willing to be responsible for promoting the group, and each member voluntarily promotes themselves with the Chinese Pastoral Landscape School xxx; we adhere to the principle of "publicity group is to publicize themselves, to help everyone is to help themselves". The most important purpose of the establishment of this school is to let friends who like pastoral landscape oil painting have a more in-depth exchange group, enhance friendship and common progress, promote the continuous benign development of mainland landscape oil painting, and also allow themselves and all sectors of society to enjoy more excellent original pastoral landscape oil paintings.
