Active ≠ ADHD Don't delay your baby's development

People are used to labeling others, especially small children. For example, "Is your baby too introverted?" "Your baby is not lively enough, oh~" "Why is my baby so timid?" "Is your baby ADHD?" So naughty! "My baby is too naughty and active, is it ADHD"...

Among the many labels, "ADHD" is a very common one, and it is one of the labels that people often attach to boys.

If the child is playful, extroverted, very naughty, often touching here and there, and likes to drop things, or make a mess at home, adults will label the child as "ADHD".

But in fact, in most cases, it is only a manifestation of the child's "hyperactivity", not "hyperactivity".

Active ≠ ADHD Don't delay your baby's development

Active≠ ADHD, make no mistake

Children with hyperactivity disorder will show more activity in any environment and situation, and have no self-control. Naughty and active children, if they are placed in an unfamiliar environment, they can control their behavior, and only after becoming familiar with the environment will they show a lively and active side.

Children with active disorder cannot concentrate on doing something, are susceptible to external stimuli, have attention disorders, and have difficulty concentrating on one thing. Active children, as long as they encounter things they like, can concentrate on doing it, and if they are interrupted, they will appear very impatient, such as watching cartoons.

Children with hyperactivity disorder do things purposelessly, disorganized, and lack rational thinking and do things recklessly. For example, children do games together, he will unconsciously make a variety of disturbing actions, and even engage in destruction, behavior does not consider the consequences, will not learn lessons, but also easy to conflict with people. And lively and mischievous children, although active, but do things have a certain purpose, curiosity, exploration driven.

In addition, children with ADHD have no problems with intelligence, but it is difficult to complete fine movements. Children who are generally active can be flexible when doing some fine movements.

ADHD in children generally has three core symptoms, namely attention deficit, hyperactivity, and easy impulsivity. To judge whether the child is active or hyperactive, look at three main points:

1. Whether there is self-control, especially in unfamiliar, serious situations, such as classrooms. Children with hyperactivity disorder can not control various movements in these occasions, and will walk around or talk casually.

2. Whether the activity is related to interests. Active children are able to stick to things they're interested in, while children with ADHD don't last long.

3. See if there is a plan, arrangement, or purpose for doing things. For example, after watching a cartoon, the average active child will remember that he has not done his homework, but the child with ADHD will not have such characteristics.

In fact, hyperactivity is the nature of every child, especially after the baby learns to walk, until the baby is about 2-3 years old, when the self-awareness is strengthened, the performance of hyperactivity will be more obvious, often making parents feel distressed. But in fact, this is their curiosity about the world, but the upgrade system is not perfect, the movement is not flexible, so there will be some "destructive" behavior that makes parents headache.

Although hyperactivity is a manifestation of hyperactivity, it does not equal hyperactivity, naughty hyperactivity and hyperactivity, and there is an essential difference between the two. Under normal circumstances, parents can judge through some of the above characteristics, if parents themselves can not distinguish, you can go to the hospital to ask a doctor to help identify. But don't label your child casually!
