Intangible cultural heritage | singing a beautiful new life

Hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, the 2021 Chinese Native Folk Song Festival with the theme of "Singing a Beautiful New Life" was held in Pengshui Miao Tujia Autonomous County, Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County and Qianjiang District of Chongqing. On December 17, the opening ceremony of the 2021 China Native Folk Song Festival was held in Pengshui Miao Tujia Autonomous County.

The 2021 Chinese Native Folk Song Festival was held to deeply implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on the protection of intangible cultural heritage, implement the spirit of the Opinions of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council on Further Strengthening the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage, display the vivid practice of the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage in traditional music in China, summarize and exchange experience in protection and inheritance, promote the people to share the results of intangible cultural heritage protection, and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of China's excellent traditional culture.

Among the 15 programs participating in the opening ceremony, there were not only the Dong nationality song "Happy Dong Family" and the Miao folk song "Jiao'ayi", but also the Yi performance and singing of the sea vegetable cavity "Golden Bird and Silver Bird Flying", as well as the Sichuan River trumpet, Tujia folk songs, Qiang mountain songs, Hakka mountain songs, Tibetan songs and dances and other folk songs with great regional and ethnic characteristics.

It is reported that this year's folk song festival includes the opening ceremony, folk song exhibition, scenic performance, special seminar, closing ceremony and other activities. On December 18, folk song exhibition and performance activities will be held in Qianjiang District and Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County of Chongqing Municipality, and on December 19, the closing ceremony will be held in Qianjiang District of Chongqing City. The activity has been actively participated in by 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across the country, and 249 folk song exhibition programs have been collected from all over the country in the early stage, with more than 1,300 applicants, and the number of declarations has exceeded that of previous sessions. After the selection of the organization, a total of 184 people from 38 exhibition teams participated in the on-site exhibition and performance. The exhibition and performance program involves 37 representative projects of intangible cultural heritage at all levels, including 23 representative projects of intangible cultural heritage at the national level, 42 representative inheritors of representative intangible cultural heritage projects at all levels, and 10 representative inheritors of representative projects of intangible cultural heritage at the national and provincial levels.
