It is worth mentioning that the Shanghai mint was also the producer of 6,000 "gold and jade" medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
The design of the medals for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is inspired by the ancient concentric circle jade bi, echoing the Beijing 2008 Olympic medal "gold inlaid jade"; the front of the medal is engraved with traditional Chinese patterns, with ice and snow patterns, auspicious cloud patterns; the back is engraved with 24 dots and sports arcs, taking the ancient astronomical map, symbolizing the vast starry sky, but also symbolizing the athletes like the stars. From February 4 to March 13, 2022, the Beijing Winter Olympics will produce 109 gold medals, and the Winter Paralympic Games will produce 78 gold medals.
