The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games have come to a successful conclusion. Following the february 14 crackdown on malicious preemptive registration of trademarks such as "Ice Pier" and "Gu Ailing" in accordance with the law, the State Intellectual Property Office once again resolutely cracked down on malicious preemptive registration applications for trademarks such as mascots, slogans, athletes' names, and venue names for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Pursuant to Article 10, Paragraph 1, Items (7) and (8) of the Trademark Law, Article 30 and other relevant provisions, 1,270 applications for trademark registration, including No. 62717890 "Frog Princess", No. 62626622 "Yiming", No. 62478160 "Together to the Future", No. 62034963 "Xuefeiyan", No. 62612144 "BINDUNDUN", No. 62515920 "Snow Rong", etc., were rejected.
In the next step, the State Intellectual Property Office will continue to maintain a high-pressure posture of cracking down on bad faith trademark registration, continuously strengthen the protection of relevant hot words, including the names of Winter Olympic athletes, and resolutely reject applications for malicious trademark squatting and publish them in a timely manner.
