At 0-24:00 on December 16, 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 76 new confirmed cases. Among them, there were 20 imported cases (7 cases in Guangxi, 5 cases in Yunnan, 4 cases in Guangdong, 3 cases in Shanghai, and 1 case in Beijing); 56 cases in local cases (44 cases in Zhejiang, including 40 cases in Shaoxing City, 2 cases in Hangzhou City, 2 cases in Ningbo City; 5 cases in Shaanxi, including 4 cases in Xi'an City and 1 case in Yan'an City; 4 cases in Inner Mongolia, all in Hulunbuir City; 2 cases in Guangdong, including 1 case in Guangzhou City, 1 case in Dongguan City, and 1 case in Sichuan City, in Chengdu City). There were no new deaths. There were 3 new suspected cases, all of which were imported from abroad (all in Shanghai).

On the same day, 26 new cured and discharged cases were cured, 4634 close contacts were released from medical observation, and the number of severe cases decreased by 4 compared with the previous day.

There are 524 confirmed cases imported from overseas (including 5 severe cases) and 4 suspected cases. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 10,548, the cumulative number of cured and discharged cases is 10,024, and there are no deaths.

As of 24:00 on December 16, according to reports from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, there are 1,556 confirmed cases (including 10 severe cases), 93,884 cured and discharged cases, 4,636 cumulative deaths, 100076 confirmed cases and 4 suspected cases. A total of 1377744 close contacts have been traced, and 51,438 close contacts are still under medical observation.

31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 23 new cases of asymptomatic infection, including 21 imported from abroad and 2 cases in The local area (all in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province); no confirmed cases were transferred to confirmed cases on the same day; 11 cases were released from medical observation on the same day (9 cases imported from abroad); and 471 asymptomatic infected people were still under medical observation (426 cases imported from abroad).

A total of 29,354 confirmed cases were reported from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Among them, there were 12,506 cases in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (12,180 cases discharged from hospital, 213 deaths), 77 cases in Macao Special Administrative Region (77 cases discharged from hospital), and 16,771 cases in Taiwan Region (13,742 cases discharged from hospital, 849 deaths).
