In 2021, the State Administration of Press and Publications organized a special work on the "quality management 2021" of books, focusing on the quality inspection of children's books and teaching aids published since 2020. A total of 300 kinds of books from 100 publishing units were randomly inspected, and after review, it was determined that 62 of them had an error rate of more than one in 10,000.
In accordance with Article 67 of the Regulations on the Administration of Publications and Articles 16 and 17 of the Provisions on the Management of Book Quality, the State Press and Publication Administration will punish relevant publishing units in accordance with law. Relevant publishing units shall recover all books with an error rate of 1/10,000 to 5/10,000 or less within 30 days from the date of publication of the inspection results, and may continue to issue them after correction and reprinting; for books with an error rate of more than 5/10,000, all books with an error rate of more than 5/10,000 shall be recovered within 30 days from the date of publication of the inspection results.
