Xu Da's eldest daughter married Zhu Di, the fourth son of Zhu Yuanzhang, and began to be made Princess of Yan, and after Zhu Di usurped power and ascended the throne, xu was made Empress Xu.
Xu Da had four sons: the eldest son Xu Huizu, the second son Xu Tianfu, the third son Xu Bingxu, and the fourth son Xu Zengshou.
The eldest son, Xu Huizu, was born in 1368, with a face like a crown jade, and his heroic posture was extraordinary, a major general of the Ming Dynasty, and in 1385, at the age of 17, he inherited the title of Duke of Wei, and his status was significantly higher than that of the other three brothers. The fourth son, Xu Zengshou, born in 1374, was appointed as the Governor of Zuo, and the third son, Xu Bingxu, served as shangbao Siqing, and later rose to the rank of Governor of the Chinese Army, hereditary commander. All three served in the imperial court. The second eldest, Xu Tianfu, died prematurely.
Before and after the Battle of Jingnan, the boss Xu Huizu was loyal to Zhu Yunwen and loyal to the imperial court. The third elder Xu Xuxu remained neutral and a good old man, and no one on either side could be guilty. The fourth elder Xu Zengshou dug into Zhu Yunwen's corner, made a small Zhu Di's internal response, eyeliner, and reported Zhu Yunwen's side to his brother-in-law Zhu Di bit by bit.
The reason why Xu Huizu brothers have several different attitudes and different occupations, I think there are the following reasons,
1, the boss Xu Huizu is a Ming Dynasty general, and has the title of Duke of Wei, also greatly influenced by Xu Da, absolutely loyal to Zhu Yunwen, who was personally determined by Zhu Yuanzhang, and has no second heart, even if his relative Zhu Di cannot pull him over. Because Zhu Di's usurpation of the throne himself is not right, the risk is also great, and the boss Xu Huizu will not take this risk.
2, the fourth Xu Zengshou little boss Xu Huizu is six years old, more than 20 years old, and was only 28 years old when he died. The young man was young and vigorous, and he was easily drawn over by his brother-in-law Zhu Di. Maybe Zhu Di also promised him that he would be prosperous and rich after the fact. And he is optimistic about Zhu Di, hoping that through him, he can make himself further in his career.
Some people say that two eggs can't be put in a basket at the same time, and I don't think that's the main reason. As Xu Huizu and Xu Zengshou, two independent people, it is just that the principles of personal behavior and work and the balance of emotional bias are different.
In the end, neither escaped the tragic end.
Xu Zengshou gave his brother-in-law Zhu Di no less small reports, and Zhu Yunwen once asked Xu Zengshou if Zhu Di had any objections. Xu Zengshou said that Zhu Di, the King of Yan, was already very rich, so why did he rebel? Later, Zhu Yunwen found that the situation was not right, and was finally defeated by the King of Yan, and then confronted Xu Zengshou, so he swung his sword and killed Xu Zengshou.
Ming Shi Vol. 125 Liechuan XIII Zengshou was appointed as the governor of Zuo Du from his father Renshi. Emperor Jianwen suspected that King Yan was opposed, and tried to increase his life expectancy. Zengshou Dun first said: "The Yan King's former emperor is the same qi, the rich and noble are already extreme, why oppose!" "And Yan Shi, the number of Jing Shi false real losses to Yan. Emperor Juezhi did not ask. Bi Yan soldiers crossed the river, the emperor summoned Zengshou Jiezhi, no, the sword slashed the temple under the temple.
As a general, Xu Huizu actively fought against Zhu Di's army, and as a result, due to Li Jinglong's mistakes in decision-making, and other reasons, the army was defeated.
When Zhu Di ascended the throne, Xu Huizu stayed in his father's ancestral hall and did not go to see him. So Zhu Di imprisoned him until his death, when he was only 39 years old.
Sadly, although Xu Da's two sons, Xu Huizu and Xu Zengshou, the fourth son, have different positions and are their masters, the ending is more tragic. The third elder, Xu Yixu, remained neutral and was able to die well.
