At the same time, modern scientific and technological means will be used to tell the story of the past and present lives of cultural relics and buildings to meet the needs of visitors to deeply understand the historical and cultural connotations of cultural relics.

The relevant person in charge of the Culture and Tourism Bureau of Xicheng District of Beijing said that Xicheng is rich in historical and cultural resources, and there are a total of 83 museums, exhibition halls and "museum equivalent facilities", of which 29 museums are registered for the record. In 2021, the exhibition of Li Dazhao's former residence and the temple of the emperors of the past was completed and opened to the public. In 2022, the Xuannan Culture Museum will complete the exhibition and upgrade and reopen to the public.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Xicheng District should connect points into lines and connect them into pieces, forming a museum system in Xicheng District with a number of resources and professional advantages such as the central and municipal governments as the leader, supported by district museums, and supplemented by museums and exhibition halls such as enterprises, society, and streets, to build a museum system in Xicheng District with diversified subjects, rich content, optimized structure, distinctive characteristics, and vitality. A number of "museum agglomeration areas" have been formed, such as the theme of science education and culture in xiwai region, the theme of celebrity former residences in Shichahai area, and the theme of commercial culture in Dashilar area, to create a city of museums.
In addition, Xicheng District has rich long-established resources. The person in charge said that taking the Dashilar Block as an example, it has a prosperous commercial history of 500 years, gathers rich and diverse cultural elements, has the characteristic spatial texture and architectural style of the old city, and is a traditional residential characteristic block that integrates Beijing-style life, commercial tourism and cultural experience. There are already many "small and beautiful" museums in this neighborhood, such as the long-established Inline Sheng, Rui Fei Xiang, Liu Bi Ju, Tong Ren Tang and so on. Many of our heritage revitalization projects are in this area.
He stressed that the district will continue to encourage the protection of the original site and original appearance of the old brand, excavate and display traditional skills, and promote the appearance of the internal museum to the public; encourage the "class museum" with some museum functions, but has not yet met the registration and filing conditions, rely on its own conditions to create a "small and beautiful" and "small and fine" characteristic theme museum, give full play to the museum collection, research, display, education, dissemination functions, activate urban cultural and tourism resources, and add glory to the process of urban civilization.
The person in charge said that through the guidance of the cultural functions of the block, the protection of spatial form and architectural style, and the improvement of tourism service facilities, a "museum agglomeration area" will be formed.
He noted that "heritage buildings will also be made readable.". That is to say, it is necessary to use modern scientific and technological means to release the historical and cultural value of cultural relics and buildings through methods such as "scanning codes for truth", "scanning codes to listen to history", "scanning codes to ask questions", telling the stories of cultural relics and buildings in the past and present lives, and meeting the needs of visitors to deeply understand the historical and cultural connotations of cultural relics.
The person in charge said that at present, based on the endowment of cultural relics resources, location advantages and development conditions in Xicheng, the historical evolution, architectural form, preservation status and management and use of cultural relics protection units in the whole region are sorted out, and two-dimensional code identification is installed in a prominent position in 305 cultural relics protection unit identification plates. In 2022, we will continue to complete the installation of 65 two-dimensional code cards to achieve full coverage of cultural relics buildings in the whole region.
