Through the micro-transformation of the city, a unique red brick tile factory with a history of 60 years has been transformed into a retro and literary creative park, which has become a famous Internet celebrity punch card place in the surrounding area, which is engraved with the profound historical memory of the old Panyu people and flows with the creative vitality of the new era.

Xifang Courtyard Cultural and Creative Industry Park is located in Qiao Street, Panyu City, Guangzhou, covering an area of 30,000 square meters, with a construction area of more than 50,000 square meters, the predecessor is the Panyu County State-owned Agricultural and Sideline Products Comprehensive Processing Factory established in 1958.
In the 1960s, this used to be panyu supply and marketing cooperative, Panyu food factory, the old factory of the former He Jigong Pharmaceutical Factory was located here, and the first pair of flip-flops in new China also came from here. As one of the origins of Panyu's industrial economy, with the incremental expansion of production in different periods, the development around the food factory has become increasingly prosperous, and once became a prosperous area leading the economic development of Panyu.
Unfortunately, due to historical reasons, the once-popular factories are declining day by day, the busy and lively scene no longer exists, the precinct has been auctioned several times, and in recent decades it has been in a state of abandonment and ruin, becoming a forgotten corner of the urban area of Shiqiao. Because of the single format and small volume, the investment effect here is not satisfactory, and the operating conditions are difficult. Considering the development cost and market prospects, the owners have been using it for warehouses and processing rooms, and the renovation and development has been at a standstill.
As one of the origins of the industrial economy in Panyu County, a small number of red brick tile houses, Soviet-style historical buildings and factory workshop buildings full of the atmosphere of the reform and opening up era have been preserved.
Xu Dongyu, director of the Shiqiao Street Office of Panyu District, introduced that since 2019, Panyu District and Shiqiao Street have introduced new developers to "tell the story of Panyu and display Panyu culture" as a breakthrough through urban renewal and micro-transformation, bringing new vitality to here.
Ms. Ling, who grew up in Shiqiao, is in her 30s and has married into Haizhu District. When she was a child, Ms. Ling's father used to work as a personnel security and office worker in this factory, and when she was a child, she often followed her father to the factory, and she was very familiar with the grass and trees here, and the factory area became a happy time and good memory of childhood.
When she returned to Shiqiao to visit her mother, she accidentally passed through The West Garden of Shiqiao and saw the door number of the Xifang compound, and was immediately surprised, but when she saw the scene of the factory area, the whole was preserved as before, instantly awakening childhood memories, a kind of nostalgia and nostalgia spontaneously emerged.

"There are old Phoenix bicycles and old foot organs in the coffee shop, and we add these nostalgic elements to the shop." Cai Pengfeng, head of a nostalgic café in the Xifang compound, introduced that they originally did wedding photography and other business, because employees like to drink coffee, so they simply opened a coffee shop here. "The idea of transforming a coffee shop is not about reinventing itself. Although the café is small, it must also match the cultural feelings of the park and be built according to the atmosphere of the miniature version of the park. ”

Zhong Zhong said that he hopes that through this place as a display platform, more young people will know that there are good things such as Guangcai porcelain in Guangzhou, so that Guangzhou's intangible cultural heritage can be better inherited and disseminated.
According to the person in charge of the Panyu District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, in 2021, they awarded the "Panyu District Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Base" plaque to the Xifang Compound to expand the channels for participating in the protection of intangible cultural heritage. The park will take the opportunity of being selected as the intangible cultural heritage inheritance base of Panyu District to strengthen the construction of carriers, broaden the work channels, actively participate in the protection and inheritance of traditional culture in Lingnan, and promote the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage at multiple levels.
