On March 29, the construction project of the new Sanxingdui Museum began in Guanghan, Sichuan. As one of the key promotion projects in Sichuan Province in 2022, the project will become an important part of the Sanxingdui National Cultural Relics Protection and Utilization Demonstration Zone.
The reporter learned that the new Sanxingdui Museum is located in the Sanxingdui Museum Park, with a construction area of 55,000 square meters, which is 5 times the construction area of the existing venue. Wang Juzhong, director of the Sanxingdui Management Committee, introduced that the construction project of the new museum and its affiliated engineering is divided into two parts: the main project and the exhibition project, the main project is planned to be completed within 1 year, and the exhibition project is expected to be completed in October 2023.
According to the designer of the new museum, the design of the new museum adheres to the concept of "combining the museum and the park", considers the relationship with the heritage park and the existing exhibition hall, the new museum and the visitor center are integrated design, and the three units of the main building face the Sanxingdui ruins area, the old museum and the park area, forming a time-space dialogue between the "museum" and the "heritage area".
According to reports, after completion, the basic exhibition of the new museum will be closely related to the "ancient city ancient country ancient Shu culture", the overall design intention is to make the arrangement of the entire exhibition content have a clearer internal rationale and context, echoing each other, complementing each other and blending into one. Zhu Yarong, director of the Planning and Construction Department of the Sanxingdui Museum Scenic Area Management Committee, said that after completion, the new museum will also have the function of a smart museum, and the collection exhibition will break through the time and space restrictions, the exhibition methods will be more abundant, the exhibition content will be more diversified, and the interaction with tourists will be stronger.
