When the Southern Song Dynasty collapsed, hundreds of thousands of soldiers and civilians were beaten to the Macao area. Some of them lived here, because of the small land and lack of arable land, it was not easy to reproduce. In the sixteenth year of Emperor Mingwu Zhengde (1521), the Battle of Tuen Mun occurred in the area of Macau. The Portuguese vainly wanted to invade Daming's territory, and Wang Feng, the deputy envoy of Guangdong Haidao, led the people to resist. In 1535 (the 14th year of Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty), the Ming government moved a trade administration, the City Pati Jushi, to Macau and allowed foreign merchant ships to trade near Macau, and the area began to develop and prosper.
The Mazu in the TV series is in Macao, the real name is Lin Mo, and the TV series and legends have some magical colors. Legend has it that when Zheng He went to the West, he was enshrined as a goddess of heaven, so he was able to return safely. Lin Mosheng in the first year of the Northern Song Dynasty (960), children who grew up by the sea can swim from an early age. She also knew some medical skills, had a kind heart, and often helped the local people to save people, and legend has it that she was promoted to a god in September of the fourth year of Yongxi (987), so many people worshipped her as the goddess of protection at sea.
After the Opium War of 1840, the Qing government weakened. Portugal once again armed its way into Macau. Unfortunately, the faltering Qing government was not the original Daming, which completely occupied Macau in 1864, and then a large number of Portuguese settled in Macau. By the time of Macau's return, the Portuguese had lived in Macau for generations, and many of them had grown up here, so naturally they didn't have much affection for their hometown. So they stayed behind and became part of China, a minority of people with Chinese nationality but not yellows.
