Hebei: Laiyuan National Ski Jumping Training and Scientific Research Base was put into use

Baoding, December 15 (Reporter Lu Zihao) On the 15th, with the completion of the commissioning of ice-making equipment for the ski slope, the "Laiyuan National Ski Jumping Training and Scientific Research Base", one of the three national ice and snow sports training bases for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and the world's largest ski jumping group, was officially put into use.

On the same day, the Propaganda Department of the Laiyuan County CPC Committee in Baoding City, Hebei Province, informed the media of the above news.

Laiyuan County is located at the confluence of The Taihang Mountains, Yanshan Mountains and Hengshan Mountains, 160 kilometers southwest of Beijing and bordering Zhangjiakou Wei County to the north. In August 2019, the State General Administration of Sport decided to build the National Ski Jumping Training and Scientific Research Base in the Seven Mountains Ski Resort in the southwest of Laiyuan County. Laiyuan National Ski Jumping Training and Scientific Research Base is one of the three national ice and snow sports training bases for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the project is divided into two phases, invested by the State General Administration of Sports, and built by China Railway 16th Bureau Group, with a total investment of more than 700 million yuan. As a training and scientific research base for the national training team of ski jumping and the biathlon team of China, as well as the training and scientific research base of the freestyle ski jump and slope obstacle course project, the snowboard big jump and the slope obstacle course project, the base provides a venue guarantee for the full preparation for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

According to reports, in addition to the wind tunnel laboratory, snowmaking system, cable car lifting system, jumping platform, green protection and other facilities, the base has built HS140, HS106 and HS20, HS40, HS75, BIGAIR six training platforms for the world's largest ski jumping platform group. The world's largest ski jumping wind tunnel laboratory with a maximum wind speed of 42 m/s, horizontal and inclined to 11 degrees and 32 degrees respectively, can help athletes in the stages of suspension and skiing, jumping, jumping and leaping.

The Propaganda Department of the Laiyuan County Party Committee said that since the construction of the base, the county has set up a special work class, regularly arranged scheduling, and provided full nanny-style services for the construction of the project. Since the first phase of the base was put into use in December 2020, two major events have been held, namely the China Ice and Snow 2020-2021 National Ski Jumping Championship and the 2021 Ski Jumping Olympic Points Series Selection Competition. At present, the base has the conditions for simulating the World Championships and preparing for the Olympic Games. In late December, the opening ceremony of the 3rd Hebei Ice and Snow Games will be held here. After the Beijing Winter Olympics, the base will become a permanent training and scientific research base for Chinese and foreign ice and snow athletes. (End)
