As a representative of the Shanghai theater industry, I am full of emotion and emotion. Especially this morning, General Secretary Xi Jinping attended the meeting and delivered an important speech, the spirit of the speech greatly encouraged and inspired the vast number of literary and art workers, holding up the banner, pointing the direction, clarifying the strategy, drawing a blueprint, calling on us to write history for the nation, establish a legend for the times, and sing songs for the people!
The literary and artistic undertakings of New China are inseparable from the party's care and guidance. In the past five years, General Secretary Xi Jinping has made a series of important expositions, instructions and instructions on literary and artistic work, such as guiding the way, which has guided the direction of our work. Literature and art writing for the people, singing for the people, and performing for the people have always been our norm. In the past five years, Shanghai theater workers, together with the vast number of literary and art workers throughout the country, have persisted in serving the people, bravely undertaking their mission, abiding by integrity and innovation, and created a large number of excellent works with bones, morality, and temperature with heart and soul. At the historical moment of the centenary of the founding of the party, we have written a great epic poem of the new era with a number of plays with profound thinking, exquisite art, and excellent production, and expressed our gratitude to the party and the country.
The Shanghai Dramatists Association currently has 1603 members, mainly including the choreographers, directors, critics, translators, stage art, drama education and management talents in the theater industry, and is an important social group. Shanghai has also always been an important town and highland of Chinese drama, as far as the Shanghai opera section is concerned, there are currently 55 representative inheritors of national intangible cultural heritage, and 102 winners of the Plum Blossom Award, the Magnolia Award and the Wenhua Award. In recent years, the Shanghai Opera Association has carried out a lot of work in advocating virtue and art, unity and guidance, literary and artistic services, creative performances, talent training, and popularization of the people. Based in Shanghai and serving the whole country, the Shanghai Magnolia Drama Performing Arts Award continues to be refined, stronger and bigger, and highlights the multiculturalism and internationality. At the same time, the Drama Association actively promoted the integration process of drama in the Yangtze River Delta, and carried out important work such as the theme activity of "going deep into life and taking root in the people" for artists in the four regions, the reading and selection of plays in the Yangtze River Delta region, and the training class for young theater workers.
I am a xiqu worker who has been cultivating Pear Garden for 35 years, and I know that the art of xiqu is our profound cultural soft power. I and the majority of theater people shoulder the responsibility, and I know that only by fully excavating the advantages and connotations of theater can we better provide strong spiritual support for the development of China's cultural undertakings. We must focus on improving the ability to go deep into the people, express the people, and praise the people, so that different dramas and multiple stages can jointly tell the story of the struggle of the Chinese people to realize their dreams, so that the people can feel and identify with the mainstream core values in the influence of healthy literature and art.
At present, we are in an important historical period in which the overall situation of the great rejuvenation strategy of the Chinese nation and the great changes in the world unprecedented in a hundred years are intertwined and stir each other. The Shanghai Drama Association and the Shanghai Opera Art Center will base themselves on the new development stage, implement the new development concept, build a new development pattern, gather the magnificent strength of the theater industry, strive to accelerate the construction of a cultural power, be the strivers and climbers of the theater industry in the new era, and greet the victory of the 20th National Congress of the Party with practical actions.
